🎗️ This Pink October, DAI Fleming Fund Country Grant Pakistan stands united in the fight against breast cancer and antimicrobial resistance (AMR).

People undergoing cancer treatment are more vulnerable to infections, often requiring antibiotics — but the misuse or overuse of these medicines can make infections harder to treat. By promoting awareness, prevention, and responsible antibiotic use, we can save lives and protect the effectiveness of life-saving treatments.

Let’s stand together for better health outcomes — because awareness today means stronger, healthier communities tomorrow. 💗

🌾 World Food Day 2025 |

This , the Fleming Fund Country Grant Pakistan reaffirms its commitment to building a healthier, more sustainable food system—one that safeguards both people and animals.

From strengthening laboratory capacity to improving antimicrobial surveillance in livestock, poultry, and aquaculture, FFCGP works to ensure that the food reaching our tables is safe, nutritious, and free from antimicrobial resistance (AMR).

Sustainable food production depends on responsible antibiotic use and strong partnerships across sectors. Through the One Health approach, we’re connecting human, animal, and environmental health—because protecting food means protecting life.

🌍 Together, let’s make food safety and responsible antibiotic use everyone’s responsibility.

🧠 World Mental Health Day 2025 | 10 October

This , the Fleming Fund Country Grant Pakistan reaffirms its commitment to supporting healthier communities — because mental health is an essential part of overall well-being. 💚
In Pakistan and around the world, mental health challenges often go unrecognised and untreated. But the link between mental health and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is an emerging concern that deserves attention.
💊 People living with chronic stress, depression, or anxiety may be more vulnerable to infections — and sometimes rely on unnecessary antibiotics for self-medication.
🏥 Overuse and misuse of antibiotics not only fail to treat mental health–related symptoms but also contribute to rising antimicrobial resistance.
At FFCGP, we’re working to build a stronger, more integrated health system through:
🔹 Strengthening laboratory–clinical linkages in hospitals
🔹 Supporting antibiotic stewardship and responsible prescribing
🔹 Advocating for holistic health approaches that consider both physical and mental well-being
Let’s create a world where caring for our minds and bodies goes hand in hand — for a healthier, more resilient future. 🌿

👁️ World Sight Day 2025 | 9 October

This , DAI Fleming Fund Pakistan joins the global movement to and advocate for vision care that is accessible, available, and affordable for all.

But did you know that eye health intersects with another major public health challenge — antimicrobial resistance (AMR)? 💊

🔹 Common eye infections such as conjunctivitis and keratitis are sometimes treated with antibiotics.
🔹 Inappropriate or excessive antibiotic use in eye care can contribute to the development of resistance.
🔹 In Pakistan, gaps in rational antibiotic use, surveillance, and infection prevention continue to challenge AMR containment efforts.

Through the Clinical Engagement Programme, funded by the Fleming Fund, we are working to strengthen lab–clinical linkages and promote antibiotic stewardship across public hospitals in Pakistan — ensuring that both vision care and infection control go hand in hand.

Let’s work together for a future where everyone can see clearly — and safely. 💙

🌸 This Pink October, the DAI Fleming Fund Country Grant Pakistan stands in solidarity with everyone affected by breast cancer. 💟

Early detection, timely treatment, and responsible health practices save lives.

People undergoing cancer treatment are often more vulnerable to infections and may require antibiotics. However, the overuse or misuse of antibiotics can lead to antimicrobial resistance (AMR) — making infections harder to treat and recovery more challenging.

Let’s raise awareness, promote infection prevention, and preserve the power of antibiotics to protect those fighting cancer and ensure better health outcomes for all. 🌍

Pakistan Leads South Asia with a Digital Track & Trace System for Antibiotics

For years, Pakistan struggled with a hidden crisis: the unchecked, irrational use of antibiotics across human and animal health. Without a centralised system, tracking the journey of medicines—from import to prescription—was nearly impossible.

That changed when the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP), with support from the DAI–Fleming Fund Country Grant, launched South Asia’s first national digital Track & Trace (T&T) system for antibiotics.

This groundbreaking platform is transforming pharmaceutical regulation by:
🔹 Tracking antibiotics in real time, from factory to pharmacy
🔹 Curbing counterfeit and substandard medicines
🔹 Providing reliable data to global surveillance systems (WHO GLASS, WOAH ANIMUSE)
🔹 Enabling a One Health approach, integrating human and animal antibiotic use

The results are already visible. Pakistan is now reporting robust data to global systems, strengthening oversight of antibiotic use, and setting a regional benchmark for digital AMR surveillance.

“This project demonstrates how digital innovation can solve long-standing public health challenges. Fleming Fund is proud to support Pakistan’s leadership in AMR surveillance.” — DAI-Fleming Fund Project Lead

✨ From challenge to solution, this case shows how digital innovation and governance reform can protect lives, safeguard medicines, and inspire global action against AMR.
