Keynote Lecture on “Metabolomics: The AI of Modern Healthcare” by U.S.-Based Forensic Scientist

Islamabad Medical & Dental College (IMDC) organized a keynote lecture on “Metabolomics: The AI of Modern Healthcare” at the IMDC Auditorium, featuring Prof. Javed I. Khan, an eminent forensic scientist from California, USA, as the distinguished keynote speaker.

With over 35 years of experience at the California State Department of Justice, Riverside Crime Laboratory, Prof. Javed. I Khan has made significant contributions to the fields of forensic chemistry, forensic biology, and forensic toxicology. He is also the author of several research publications and three textbooks on forensic science and related disciplines.

Mr. Khan delivered an engaging and insightful lecture, drawing connections between artificial intelligence (AI) and metabolomics, the study of small molecules or metabolites that reflect biological processes. He explained how AI and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) metabolomics together are revolutionizing modern healthcare by enabling precision medicine, disease modeling, and the development of personalized therapies.

Following the lecture, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Aslam, Vice Chancellor, City University Islamabad (CUI), delivered the Vote of Thanks, appreciating the speaker’s contribution and sharing his vision for future collaborations. A memento was presented to Mr. Khan by Prof. Aslam and Mr. Yasir Khan Niazi, CEO of IMDC, in recognition of his valuable contribution.

The event concluded with a focused group discussion chaired by Prof. Dr. Aslam, during which several collaborative initiatives were proposed.
