Federal Minister for Health Syed Mustafa Kamal Announces Full Digitalization of Pakistan Nursing Council

An important meeting regarding the Pakistan Nursing Council was held under the chairmanship of Federal Minister for Health, Mustafa Kamal.

The meeting was attended by the Federal Secretary of Health and the Additional Secretary as well.

Key decisions were made regarding the complete digitalization of the Pakistan Nursing Council.

Health Minister Mustafa Kamal emphasized the need to computerize all council operations as soon as possible.

"By minimizing human intervention, we will ensure merit and transparency," said Mustafa Kamal.

"We will restore the lost reputation of the nursing sector," he added.

He assured that the Pakistan Nursing Council would be transformed into a modern, effective, and internationally recognized institution.

"Nursing is of significant importance in the healthcare sector," said Mustafa Kamal.

Pakistan currently faces a shortage of 900,000 nurses, he stated.

Globally, there is a shortage of around 2.5 million qualified nurses, he further noted.

Effective and coordinated measures will be taken to strengthen the nursing sector.

"We will modernize the nursing sector and continue reforms to improve its standards," said Mustafa Kamal.

Good job

Today, Miss Shaheen, the President of the Young Nurses Association (YNA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), along with her dedicated team, had the honor of meeting the esteemed Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Faisal Kareem Kundi. During this crucial meeting, various pressing issues faced by nurses in the region were discussed in detail.

The team highlighted the challenges nurses face in the healthcare sector, such as inadequate facilities, limited career advancement opportunities, and issues regarding their working conditions. They also brought attention to the shortage of staff, workload concerns, and the need for better pay and recognition of their vital contributions to the healthcare system.

Governor Mr. Faisal Kareem Kundi expressed his full support and assured the nursing community that he would address these concerns promptly and effectively, to the best of his ability. He emphasized that he understands the importance of nurses as the backbone of the healthcare system and their significant role in saving lives and improving public health. The Governor assured that he would take all necessary actions to resolve these issues at the earliest possible.

In addition to his promise to address the challenges, Governor Kundi also praised the relentless efforts and tireless dedication of nurses in KPK, acknowledging their pivotal role in the health sector, especially in the face of the ongoing challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. His recognition of their hard work and commitment was a much-needed morale booster for the nursing community.

It is truly commendable that Governor Faisal Kareem Kundi, through this meeting, has demonstrated a clear commitment to the betterment of nurses and healthcare workers in KPK. His understanding and proactive approach to resolving these issues shows great leadership and compassion for the people who work tirelessly to care for others. Nurses in KPK can take comfort in knowing that they have a Governor who values and supports their contributions, and we remain hopeful that his assurance will translate into tangible improvements in the healthcare sector.

The efforts of Miss Shaheen and her team at YNA deserve equal recognition for their continuous advocacy for nurses' rights and their unwavering commitment to enhancing the working conditions and welfare of the nursing community in KPK. Their leadership and persistent efforts are helping to bring about positive change, and today’s meeting marks a significant step in that direction.

We appreciate Governor Faisal Kareem Kundi’s leadership and his promise to support the nursing community in their quest for better working conditions and opportunities, which will ultimately benefit the health sector and the citizens of KPK.
