We are honored to welcome Dr. Mahmood Iqbal to our Guest Lecture Series for the Executive MBA Health Management Program at the Institute of Health Management and Research Sciences, Jamshoro.
Dr. Mahmood Iqbal brings with him an impressive 36-year career as a Public Health Professional, having held pivotal roles that have profoundly shaped public health initiatives in Pakistan. Beginning his journey in 1988 with the Health Department of the Government of Sindh, Dr. Iqbal has been instrumental in leading various critical public health programs and initiatives. His deep expertise spans across a wide range of areas, including health system strengthening, disease surveillance, maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH), and monitoring and evaluation (M&E).
Currently, Dr. Iqbal serves as the Provincial Program Manager, Sindh for the Fleming Fund Country Grant at DAI Pakistan. In this capacity, he is spearheading efforts to strengthen the AMR (Antimicrobial Resistance) Surveillance System, focusing on coordination, communication, and effective implementation of interventions across the province. His extensive experience working with international organizations such as USAID, UNICEF, WHO, and JICA has made a significant impact on health systems, particularly in Sindh and more broadly in Pakistan.
Dr. Iqbal’s session, titled "One Health Approach," is scheduled for Sunday, August 11, 2024, at 12 PM onwards. This lecture will be an invaluable opportunity for the students of the Executive MBA Health Management Program to gain deep insights and knowledge from a leader in the field of public health. The session promises to enhance their understanding of the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health, which is crucial for addressing contemporary health challenges.
