An informative awareness and educational session was organized to highlight the significance of appropriate antimicrobial use and the growing global threat of antimicrobial resistance (AMR). The session was led by ๐ƒ๐ซ. ๐๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ก๐ซ๐š ๐‘๐ž๐ก๐ฆ๐š๐ง, ๐‚๐ฅ๐š๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ข๐Ÿ๐ข๐ž๐ ๐Œ๐ž๐๐ข๐œ๐š๐ฅ ๐’๐ฉ๐ž๐œ๐ข๐š๐ฅ๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ, who delivered a comprehensive presentation on the prudent use of antibiotics, strategies for infection prevention, and the critical role of healthcare professionals in combating antimicrobial resistance. She emphasized implementing evidence-based prescribing practices and improving stewardship initiatives within the hospital. A total of 42 Consultants and Medical Officers attended the event. The participants actively engaged in discussions, sharing challenges and solutions regarding antibiotic stewardship in clinical settings. The event successfully enhanced awareness among clinical staff regarding responsible antimicrobial utilization and reinforced the hospitalโ€™s commitment toward patient safety and global health standards.

World Immunization Day was observed at SOMH (FF), Karachi on 10th November 2025. The event aimed to raise awareness about the vital role of vaccination in preventing communicable diseases and promoting community health. The awareness session was led by Dr. Waqar Farooqui, representing the Assistant District Health Office (ADHO), District Korangi, Karachi. Dr. Farooqui delivered an informative and engaging presentation highlighting the importance of immunization programs, recent progress under the Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI), and the challenges faced in achieving complete vaccine coverage in the community. A total of 52 participants, including consultants, medical officers (MOs), and paramedical staff, attended the session. The participants actively engaged in discussions about immunization strategies, cold chain management, and methods to enhance public awareness and compliance with vaccination schedules. Dr. Farooqui emphasized the need for continuous professional training and interdepartmental coordination to strengthen immunization services. He also encouraged healthcare professionals to serve as community advocates for vaccination, ensuring that preventable diseases remain under control. The session concluded with a question-and-answer segment and a reaffirmation of commitment by SOMH staff to support national and district-level immunization initiatives.
