During the last month of my internship at NICH (National Institute of Child Health), we celebrated diabetes day in which several fun activities and a nutritional awareness stall were arranged for the diabetic patients.
(1) Nutritional awareness stall related to Pediatric Diabetes
(2) Serving sizes of the foods
(3) The project we made for the understanding of the patients that how their plate should be arranged while having an enjoyable meal, Moreover a fun activity for children to design their own plate by selecting healthy or non-healthy food items for themselves.
Being a diabetic doesn't mean you can't enjoy the foods you love, infact it's just a matter of what you eat and how much you eat.

▪️Every cell and tissue in the body can use glucose (simple form of carbohydrate) for energy.
▪️Dietary fibers in carbs contribute to the overall health of the colon and some play a role in regulating blood sugar levels.

Whole Grain Pasta
Whole Grain Bread
✅GOOD CARBS:
The best carbs are complex and fiber rich like whole grains. Even then they should be eaten in moderation.

🟢MACRONUTRIENTS:
We need macronutrients in large amounts, for the growth and maintenance of all our cells, tissues and organs. They are also needed to create the energy our bodies require on a daily basis.
🟢MICRONUTRIENTS:
We need micronutrients in micro amounts, but don't be fooled just because you don't need much of them, doesn't mean they aren't essential. In fact, if you don't get enough of them it can lead to chronic diseases like heart disease, type 2 diabetes, some cancers and more.
