These were the guiding themes of our first Relational Parenting Workshop at ACPD on 6th September, led by Nasim Mughal.

Therapists and community members gathered to understand how trauma lives in the body and how we can nurture healthier, more connected families.

My Scar Management Protocol for Lacerations

I outline the techniques I use to promote optimal healing and minimize scarring in clinical practice. The same principles apply to incisions, but often need to be applied more aggressively in lacerations.

Once sutures are removed, the essential components include:
• Application of steristrips
• Regular massage with cream
• Ongoing review to ensure compliance

Together, these steps support the best possible outcomes for scar management.

In just the first eight months of 2025, the PEBS Oral Cancer Surgery Unit has already performed 126 free surgeries, surpassing last year’s total of 100. That is a 25% rise in cases already, and by year’s end we expect a 75% increase.

Oral Cancer is the #1 cancer in men and the #3 in women in Pakistan, hitting hardest in lower-middle and middle-class families due to Pan, Guthka, Chalia, Mawa, Mainpuri, and other harmful substances.

At PEBS, every surgery is offered completely free of cost, saving not only patients but also protecting families from the grief of widows and orphans.

We are deeply grateful to our supporters who make this mission possible. But as the number of patients continues to rise sharply, so does our need for resources.
