In a study of 3425 older adult patients with acute head injury, acute intracranial hemorrhage (ICH) was identified in 6.7 percent of patients but only 0.4 percent had delayed ICH.

The rates of delayed bleeding were similar for patients prescribed anticoagulants versus those who were not. All delayed bleeding occurred between several hours and five days following injury. These support the safety of discharge in these patients after appropriate evaluation and observation.

The session, conducted by Dr. Jennifer Benjamin, senior customer success specialist, and Ms. Nabila, manager, medical knowledge, UpToDate, focused on optimizing the use of this platform for differential diagnoses, drug interaction analysis, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions.

Attendees were guided on leveraging UpToDate for continuous medical education, including earning CME credits and improving bedside decision-making.

Held under the supervision of Associate Dean RMI Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Wahid, the session reinforced RMI's commitment to integrating advanced digital resources into clinical workflows, ensuring optimal patient outcomes through up-to-date medical knowledge and best practices.
