کہتے ہیں حضرت موسیٰ علیہ السلام کی قوم پر آسمان سے کھانا اترتا تھا۔ اس میں جنّت کے پھل اور ناؤ نوش کی چیزیں شامل تھیں ۔ مگر بنی اسرائیل نے اس کی قدر نہ کی ۔جس کے باعث اللہ تعالیٰ نے اپنی یہ نعمت نازل کرنا بند کردی۔
من و سلویٰ میں کیا کیا چیزیں شامل تھیں ،یہ تو اللہ تعالیٰ ہی بہتر جانتے ہیں۔ ہی بہتر جانتے ہیں لیکن احادیث کے مطابق عجوہ کھجور دنیا میں جنت کا پھل ہے۔
اس میں جادو سے نجات، زہر سے نجات،آنکھوں کے امراض،جنون ،پاگل پن یا نفسیاتی امراض سے نجات ، دورانِ سر اور دل کے امراض سمیت متعدد بیماریوں سے شفا ہی شفا ہے ۔ان سب سے بڑھ کر یہ دنیا ہی میں جنّت کا پھل اور نبی پاک(صلیٰ اللہ علیہ وسلم )کی مرغوب ترین چیز ہے۔جس کا درخت آپ(صلیٰ اللہ علیہ وسلم )نے اپنے دستِ مبارک سے لگایا تھا۔تاریخ اسلام میں سب سے پہلا ہارٹ اٹیک حضرت سعد بن ابی وقاص کو ہوا نبی اکرم (صلیٰ اللہ علیہ وسلم )نے ان کاعلاج عجوہ کھجور کی گٹھلیاں کھلا کر کیا اور وہ مکمل طور پر صحت مند ہوگئے(تفصیلات کے لئے یہاں کلک کیجئے) عجوہ آج بھی مدینہ کی عمدہ ترین،لذیز ترین اور انتہائی مہنگی کھجور ہے۔

حرم کے قرب و جوار میں عجوہ 100 ریال فی کلو سے بھی مہنگی فروخت ہوتی ہے۔پاکستانی روپوں میں اس کی قیمت 2400 سے 3000 روپے فی کلو تک بنتی ہےاس کے باوجود اس کی افادیت کی وجہ سے اس کی طلب بہت زیادہ ہے۔
اور حج و عمرے کی نیت سےجانے والے خواتین و حضرات زم زم کے علاوہ اپنی استطاعت کے مطابق عجوہ ضرور لانے کی کوشش کرتے ہیں اور عزیز رشتے داروں میں محض ایک ایک یا دو دو کھجور ہی تقسیم کر تے ہیں۔اور اگر کوئی حج یا عمرے کے لئے جا رہا ہوتو اس سے بطورِ خاص عجوہ منگواتے ہیں.عجوہ محض اوپر دی گئی بیماریوں کے لئے ہی مفید نہیں بلکہ خواتین اور مردوں کی بہت سی بیماریوں کے بھی اکسیر ہے(تفصیلات کے لئے یہاں کلک کیجئے)
چونکہ تجارت سنتِ رسول (صلیٰ اللہ علیہ وسلم )بھی ہے اور اس میں اللہ (جلِ شانہ) کی طرف سے برکت بھی۔
