“Changing the Narrative on Su***de”
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), su***de remains a major public health concern, taking over 720,000 lives annually. Every life lost carries profound social, emotional, and economic impacts, deeply affecting families, friends, workplaces, and communities across the globe.
Established in 2003, World Su***de Prevention Day has been observed to raise awareness and reduce stigma. This advocacy reaches out to national organizations, governments, and the general public to deliver the message that su***de can be prevented.
The triennial theme for World Su***de Prevention Day 2024-2026 “Changing the Narrative on Su***de” calls to eradicate harmful myths and reduce stigma about su***de, as well as to open compassionate conversations about it.
This World Su***de Prevention Day, we create a space where silence and misunderstanding don’t exist; where everyone is accepted, listened to, and supported. We also emphasize the importance of speaking up and seeking help.
***dePreventionDay, let’s break the silence, offer hope, and be there for one another.
