*"Buzz with Physiology" - Physiology League 2025*

The Physiology Department of Allama Iqbal Medical College (AIMC) hosted a thrilling event, "Buzz with Physiology," as part of the Physiology League 2025. The event was held under the kind supervision of Prof. Dr. Tayyiba Waseem, Principal of AIMC, and was organized by Prof. Dr. Amna Tahir, HOD Physiology.

The event featured a role-play competition and a 3D model competition, showcasing the creativity and knowledge of medical students. The chief guest, Prof. Dr. Hamid Javaid Qureshi, along with esteemed faculty members, including Prof. Mahjabeen, Prof. Zunaira, Prof. Moeen, prof Imran Ashraf ,prof dr muneeza natiq ,prof sadia anwar,prof shabnum ,prof Ashraf Zia ,prof nughat Majeed ,prof Muhammad auyb ,prof Shahid Sarwar ,,prof Farhat sultana graced the occasion with their presence.

The role-play videos presented by both years were truly impressive, highlighting the students' understanding of physiological concepts in an engaging and entertaining way. The 3D models on display were equally captivating, demonstrating the students' creativity and attention to detail.

The judges for the competitions, Prof. Muhammad Shoaib from SIMS, Prof. Naghmana Latif from FJMU, Dr. Rahat Naseem, and Prof. Hamid, provided valuable feedback and insights to the participants.

The event concluded with the distribution of prizes to the winners, and the participants were applauded for their hard work and dedication. The Physiology Department of AIMC extends its gratitude to the principal, faculty members, and students for making this event a grand success.

21st FCPS Hematology Intensive course for FCPS part II was mutually organized by the Department of Pathology, Allama Iqbal Medical College and the University of Child Health Sciences, The Children’s Hospital Lahore.

Day-1 of this Intensive Course was conducted under the patronage of our worthy Principal, Prof. Dr. Tayyiba Waseem, today on Monday, November 3rd, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m at the department of Pathology, AIMC.

The event drew a large number of enthusiastic participants from various cities, including Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalpur Islamabad, Rawalpindi and others.

Attendees benefited from an extensive hands-on session in morphological interpretation, followed by an interactive discussion on diagnostic challenges faced in routine hematology practice.

The session was graced by Prof. Dr. Nisar Ahmed as the Guest of Honour, and enriched by insightful contributions from eminent hematologists and CPSP examiners, including Prof. Ambreen Hamid, Prof. Humaira Rafique, Prof. Muneeza Natiq, Prof. Shabnam Bashir, Prof. Saima Farhan, Dr. Asad Hayat, Dr. Tooba Fateen, Dr. Anum Wasim, Dr. Romaisa Naeem, Dr. Ayesha Khanum, and Dr. Neelum Mazhar.

The Department of Pharmacology, Allama Iqbal Medical College (AIMC), successfully organized a Poster Competition to promote interactive learning and creativity among students.
The event was graced by our esteemed Principal, Prof. Dr. Tayyaba Waseem, as the Chief Guest, and organized under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Najma Naz, Head of the Department of Pharmacology and Prof Imran Ashraf.
Distinguished judges honored the occasion with their presence, including Prof. Dr. Saeed Anwar (Sargodha Medical College), Prof. Dr. Zahid (Al aleem Medical College), Prof. Dr. Tehseen (Services Institute of Medical Sciences), Prof. Dr. Sajida (Fatima Memorial Medical College), Prof. Dr. Mahwish (Azra Naheed Medical College), and Dr. Tehreem (SIMS).
In her address, Principal Prof. Dr. Tayyaba Waseem appreciated the efforts of the Pharmacology Department for fostering student engagement through such academic activities and emphasized the importance of Pharmacology in developing rational and evidence-based clinical practice.

4th Oncoplastic Breast Surgery Techniques Workshop was successfully organized today at Allama Iqbal Medical College / Jinnah Hospital, Lahore.Our worthy Principal, Prof. Dr. Tayyiba Waseem, emphasized the importance of skill acquisition in the latest surgical treatment trends for breast cancer management. The Patron of the workshop and Dean of Surgery, Prof. Dr. Farooq Ahmad Rana, also highlighted the pressing need for establishing a dedicated Breast Surgery Unit. We are thankful to our worthy Principal Prof. Dr. Tayyiba Waseem who graciously announced her full support for this much-needed initiative.
Special thanks to Prof.Ashraf Zia his Anasthesia team and Dr. Shahid Sarwar for his generous support in facilitating the use of the Medical Unit-I Auditorium. I am deeply indebted to all departments of General Surgery, Radiology, Oncology, Plastic Surgery, and Pathology, as well as to my dedicated team of Surgical Unit-I. *AIMSCon 2025 – First Interprofessional Research Conference*

Under the dynamic supervision of *Prof. Tayyiba Wasim* , first Interprofessional Research Conference – AIMSCon 2025 was successfully organized, with Prof. Shahid Sarwar serving as Chairman Organizing Committee, Prof. Lamees Mahmood Malik as Co-Chair Organizing Committee, and Prof. Shahid Sethi as Chairman Scientific Committee. The organizing team also included Prof. Faiqa Saleem (Chairperson Audiovisual Committee), Prof. Muneeza Natiq (Chairperson Pre-Conference Workshops), and Dr. Farah Siddique (Chairperson Finance Committee).

The conference received an overwhelming response, with *over 400 abstracts* submitted from across Pakistan, representing diverse disciplines including MBBS, BDS, Physiotherapy, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Allied Health Sciences. From these submissions, *24 abstracts* were selected for oral presentations, while *100 posters* were displayed across two dedicated sessions. The event drew more than *750 delegates* from all over Punjab making it a resounding success.

The conference was graced by Prof. Mahmood Shaukat as the Chief Guest and Keynote Speaker, and Prof. Masood Sadiq as the Guest of Honour, along with an insightful guest lecture by Prof. Mehwish Arooj. All guest lectures underscored the importance of inculcating a true research culture among students and faculty alike.

Another highlight of the event was that, along with the faculty, the conference was jointly organized by the Student Research Society (AJRS), reflecting the strong spirit of student engagement and leadership in promoting research at AIMC.

In her address, *Prof. Tayyiba Wasim, Principal AIMC,* emphasized the value of interprofessional collaboration in advancing the shared goal of improving patient care.

The oral and poster presentations were judged by a panel of experts comprising professors from various departments, who evaluated the work on scientific merit and presentation skills. They selected the winners and runners-up, who were awarded cash prizes at the conclusion of the event, recognizing and encouraging young researchers in various categories of oral and poster presentations.

Celebrating World Anatomy Day at AIMC
​The Department of Anatomy, Allama Iqbal Medical College (AIMC), marked World Anatomy Day with a vibrant and successful celebration.
​The event, which was chaired by Prof. Dr. Tayyiba Waseem, was organized by Prof. Dr. Mah Jabeen Muneera and Prof. Dr. Moeen Uddin. The day featured the presence of several distinguished Professors and Associate Professors from Anatomy including Prof. Dr. Samar Ashraf and Dr. Qasim Muneer (KEMU), Prof. Dr. Memoona Naseem (CPMC) , Prof. Dr. Quratul Ain (Rahbar Medical College), Prof. Dr. Alia Zahid (FJMU), Prof. Farhana Jafri (KSMC, Sialkot), Prof. Dr. Ansa Rabia and Prof. Dr. Shaista (CMH Medical College, Lahore), Prof. Dr. Kanwal Saeed (Ameer ud din Medical College), Dr. Maria Ilyas (Faisalabad Medical University) and Dr. Sitwat Amna (Gujrat Medical College).
​Key activities included Anatomy Quiz, Histological Slides Competition and hands on activity for students on virtual dissection table in collaboration with Medical Simulation Consultants. The department also took the opportunity to recognize excellence, presenting awards to the best 1st and 2nd-year students, the best teacher, and the best paramedical staff.
​In her remarks, Principal AIMC, Prof. Dr. Tayyiba Waseem, commended the Anatomy department for focusing on student-centered activities and underscored that Anatomy remains the foundational subject critical for producing world-class clinicians.

Our worthy principal Prof Tayyiba Wasim paid a thorough visit to Medical floor JHL along with admin team & prof Shahid Sarwar. She inspected various areas, including gastroenterology unit JHL. She gave instructions to shift the reception and create more space to accommodate more beds & seperate wards. The team apprised her about their dedication, challenges and number of patients being provided the services of gastroscopy , colonoscopy & ERCP in daily basis.

State of the art new machines are being provided to the gastroenterology unit of JHL by the government of Punjab IA. This will enhance patient services. She expressed her appreciation for the head of medicine Prof Shahid Sarwar and the whole team’s & emphasized that JHL administration is determined to provide exemplary care to the patients. The Department of Pathology, Allama Iqbal Medical College, successfully organized a hands-on workshop titled “Morphology to Diagnosis: Decoding Morphology”
under the Patronage of our worthy Principal Prof Dr Tayyiba Wasim on Thursday, 9th October. It was a Pre conference workshop part of 46th International Pakistan Association of Pathologists conference 2025 going to be in PC Lahore from 10-12 th October.

The workshop attracted a large number of enthusiastic participants from various cities, offering them an extensive hands-on experience in morphological interpretation followed by an engaging discussion on diagnostic challenges.

Breast cancer awareness walk and symposium were organized today in collaboration with Pink Ribbon Organization at ALLAMA IQBAL MEDICAL COLLEGE LAHORE. Principal Allama Iqbal Medical College Prof Dr. Tayyiba Waseem emphasized upon the importance of Early detection in the management of breast cancer.She also emphasized upon the importance of ONE STOP BREAST CLINIC and announced that she is going to start one stop breast clinic soon at Jinnah Hospital Lahore.It was a well organized session attended by all the basic and clinical departments along with MBBS and nursing students. Miss Rushda Lodhi parliamentary secretary for specialized health care and Medical Education Department was the chief guest of the event. Dr. Ali Razzaq CEO PHIMC and Mr. Omar Aftab CEO Pink Ribbon were among Guests of honor for today's symposium. The seminar was organized by Prof. Dr. Mah Jabeen Muneera and Prof. Dr. Moeen Uddin and was patronised by Prof. Dr. Tayyiba Waseem.
This event brought together leading experts to discuss the latest advancements that are redefining anatomy and clinical practice.
The seminar was graced by several distinguished professors, whose presence underscores our collective commitment to excellence in education. These included experts in Anatomy like Prof. Dr. Attiya Mubarik (Professor of anatomy and Vice Prinicipal Rabhbar Medical College, Lahore) and Prof. Dr. Farhana Sajjad (Chairperson Department of Anatomy, KEMU).
