⭐ ⭐ No More Myths ⭐ ⭐

Carbohydrates are your body's main source of energy. Carbs help to fuel your body organs and systems.

Most importantly, fiber is a carbohydrate that aids in digestion, helps you feel full and keeps blood cholesterol levels in check.

Carbs also contain a good amount of many vitamins and minerals as well as essential amino acids.

Most important tips to lose weight are portion control and calorie deficit.

You don't need to stop eating carbs and even if you do that but don't go for calorie deficit, it will definately not help you to reduce your weight.

Wrapping food in newspapers or any kind of printed or hand written paper with ink used on it is an unhealthy practice and the consumption of such food is injurious to health, even if the food has been cooked hygienically.

Printing inks may also contain harmful colours, pigments, binders, additives, and preservatives. Besides chemical contaminants, the presence of pathogenic micro organisms in used newspapers also poses a potential risk to human health.

Even paper/cardboard boxes made of recycled paper may be contaminated with harmful chemicals like phthalate which can cause digestive problems and also lead to severe toxicity.

Older people, teenagers, children and people with compromised vital organs and immune systems are at a greater risk of acquiring cancer-related health complications if they are exposed to food packed in such material.

1. Use a smaller plate

A standard-sized portion will look small on a larger plate, making you feel dissatisfied. Use a smaller plate to prevent overloading.

2. Don’t double your carbs

If you already have some starchy carbohydrate with your meal, do you need bread, naan or chapatis as well? You could be doubling your portion, so if you like to have some bread on the side, you’ll need to cut down the amount of starchy carbohydrate on your plate accordingly.

3. Give measuring cups a go

Finding it difficult to gauge the right amount to eat? Try using measuring cups. You don’t need to have special cups, though; you could use any teacups, mugs or containers that work for you. It’s just a simple way of measuring the amount for you every time.

4. Be selective with your seconds

Finish your meal with fruit rather than chocolate cake. An apple will help to fill you up more than a couple of squares of chocolate, but both contain similar amounts of calories.

5. Don't pick at leftovers

"Avoid the temptation to polish off children’s or grandchildren’s meals or to nibble leftovers"

Wasting food certainly isn’t ideal, but it doesn’t mean you need to finish off everyone else’s portions. Avoid the temptation to polish off children’s or grandchildren’s meals or to nibble leftovers when there’s not quite enough for a whole portion.

If you find it happens regularly, then get into the habit of cooking less or have a plan to use up leftovers in another meal.

6. 20-minute rule

Think you haven’t had enough? Wait for about 20 minutes before reaching for a second helping. It can take a little while for you to feel full after you have eaten. So avoid the temptation to keep eating and see if you get that feeling.

7. Check food labels

Make sure you know what portion the nutrition information on the front of pack relates to. It might be different to the amount you would normally serve yourself.

8. Ask for less

When you’re eating out, watch out for supersized portions. It’s easier to avoid temptation if the food isn’t on your plate to begin with, so say no to the bread basket and think about whether you need to have chips with your burger.

Dark circles appears when your under eye area starts to loose fat and collagen. It results in thining and of skin under eyes and his can make reddish-blue vessels under your eyes more prominent.

These are several dietary changes you can make to take a step to healthier diet and get rid of dark circles;

1) Eat a low salt diet+ drink more water:
When your body doesn’t have enough water but too much salt, you can look and feel puffy and bloated. The skin around your eyes is especially thin and vulnerable to dehydration. When you eat a salty meal but don’t drink enough water, your body will literally “look” dehydrated – i.e., red, puffy eyes.

2) Add fish and nuts to your diet:
Omega 3’s can be found in foods like salmon and walnuts. These fatty acids improve blood flow to the skin, moving blood out and away from your eyes instead of allowing it to pool there and cause dark under eye circles.

3) Eat more fruits and vegetables:
Fruits and vegetables contains vitamins, minerals as well as phytochemicals which works as antioxidants and also helps in reducing the signs of aging.

A combination of good sleep, healthy diet, proper hydration, good skincare, exercise and meditation works well to get rid of dark circles permanently but we mostly skip the part of healthy diet and rely on using different remedies and cosmetic creams on our eyes. So, whenever you work on any issue start with excluding the main cause of that issue and in this case start with taking a good diet.

Green tea contains polyphenols and catechins which improves digestion, speeds up metabolism, prevents free radical formation and that's how green tea is linked with overall weight loss when consumed over a long period of time.

Green tea is not directly linked with fat loss and according to studies green tea helps in exercise-induced fat loss (0.6kg or 1.7% of total abdominal fat and subcutaneous abdominal fat) after 12 weeks of continuous consumption.

In short, green tea helps in overall weight loss but helps in "Fat Loss" only when paired with exercise or any other equivalent physical activity.

Heavy metal poisoning is the accumulation of various heavy metals in your body. Environmental and industrial factors expose you to high levels of heavy metals every day, including the foods you eat and air you breathe.
Some of these metals — such as zinc, copper, and iron are good for you in small amounts. But overexposure can lead to heavy metal poisoning, such as what occurs in Wilson's Disease. This can be fatal.
There are some dietary options which incorporate foods that electrically attract metal to help move it out of your body. This is a natural complementary therapy, called "Heavy Metal Detox".

Symptoms of heavy metal toxicity vary depending on the type of metal you’re overexposed to. Mercury, lead, arsenic and cadmium are some of the more common overexposed metals.

Acute symptoms associated with these metals include:
- Headaches
- Abdominal pain and cramping
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Fatigue
- Difficulty breathing

In more severe cases of chronic heavy metal poisoning, you may experience symptoms including:
- Burning and tingling sensations
- Chronic infections
- Brain fog
- Visual disturbances
- Insomnia
- Paralysis

Some foods can help you detoxify by getting rid of heavy metals from your body. These foods bind to the metals and remove them in the digestive process.

Eating foods high in vitamins and minerals can have protective effects for those exposed to heavy metals. Also, if you aren’t getting the recommended daily intake of vitamins, consider taking supplements.

To minimize the effects of heavy metal poisoning or prevent it altogether, you need to eliminate some foods from your diet.

This is especially true for processed foods and excess fats. These foods have minimal nutritional value and slow down the detox process. This is because fats tend to soak up the harmful substances you want to remove.

Some foods to limit or avoid in your heavy metal detox diet include:
- Rice (brown rice, specifically because it often contains arsenic)
- Some fish, such as larger and long living fish, as they tend to contain more mercury
- Alcohol
- Non organic foods

Detox diets are generally short-term dietary interventions designed to eliminate toxins from your body.

A typical detox diet involves a period of fasting, followed by a strict diet of fruit, vegetables, fruit juices, and water. Sometimes a detox also includes herbs, teas, supplements, and colon cleanser or enemas.

This is claimed to:

Rest your organs by fasting

Stimulate your liver to get rid of toxins

Promote toxin elimination through f***s, urine, and sweat

Improve Circulation

Provide your body with healthy nutrients

Detox therapies are most commonly recommended because of potential exposure to toxic chemicals in the environment or your diet. These include pollutants, synthetic chemicals, heavy metals, and other harmful compounds.

These diets are also claimed to help with various health problems, including obesity, digestive issues, autoimmune diseases, inflammation, allergies, bloating, and chronic fatigue.

Many of us choose diet sodas thinking that doing this will reduce our daily calorie intake and we will still enjoy having a soda.

In most of the diet sodas, an artificial sweetener or sugar substitute, Aspartame is used which is 200 times sweeter than table sugar.

Aspartame is composed of aspartic acid and phenylalanine, two amino acids.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the use of aspartame in carbonated beverages in 1983.

How much Aspartame is safe?

The FDA says the acceptable daily intake for aspartame is 50 milligrams per kilogram of body weight, per day. This means that a person who weighs 150 pounds can safely consume 3,400 milligrams of the artificial sweetener – or approximately 19 cans of diet soda — every day.

Who shouldn't take Aspartame at all?

For some people, however, consumption of aspartame is not safe at all. A hereditary disorder called phenylketonuria requires you strictly limit your intake of phenylalanine, one of the components of aspartame. Always choose diet drinks without aspartame if you have this condition.

What recent researches say about the use of Aspartame?

The researchers note that aspartame may interfere with your antioxidant/oxidant balance and induce oxidative stress — essentially compromising the integrity of your cells and leading to systemic inflammation.

Use of aspartame has been linked to behavioral and cognitive problems — such as headaches, irritable mood, depression and insomnia.

Aspartame acts as a chemical stressor, which can have adverse effects on brain health.

Are diet sodas available without Aspartame?

Diet Sodas without Aspartame are also available which also includes Diet Coke with Splenda and Coca Cola Life which are healthier to use than diet sodas with Aspartame.
