لاہور, پنجاب کا دل اور سب سے بڑا شہر اس وقت ایک انتہائی نازک صورتحال سے گزر رہا ہے۔ یہاں کی ہوا نہ صرف انکھوں کو جلدی خراب کرتی ہے بلکہ ذیابیطس، دل کی بیماریاں اور دمہ جیسے دیگر صحت کے مسائل کا بھی باعث بن چکی ہے۔
عوامی صحت اور ماحولیاتی معیار پر اثر انداز ہونے والے غیر معمولی آلودگی پاکستان کے مختلف شہروں میں ایک بڑا مسئلہ بن چکی ہے۔ خاص طور پر لاہور میں فضائی آلودگی کی سطح بہت زیادہ ہو گئی ہے۔ آبادی کی تیزی سے بڑھتی شرا صنعتی ترقی اور ٹرانسپورٹ کے ساتھ غیر مؤثر ماحولیاتی اثرات کی وجہ سے ہوا میں آلودگی کی سطح مسلسل بڑھتی جا رہی ہے۔
عالمی ادارے صحت کے مطابق دنیا بھر میں آلودگی سے سالانہ تقریبا 70 لاکھ افراد ہلاک ہوتے ہیں جن میں 42 لاکھ افراد ہوا کی آلودگی کے اثرات کے باعث ہلاک ہوتے ہیں علاوہ ازیں دس میں سے نو افراد آلودہ فضا میں سانس لے رہے ہیں جو عالمی ادارہ سے صحت کے مقرر کردہ معیار پر نہیں ہے۔
لاہور میں ہوا کی آلودگی اور سموک کے اثرات انسانی صحت کے لیے خطرناک ثابت ہو رہے ہیں ہوا میں موجود زیادہ مقدار میں آلودگی نے دل کی بیماریاں، پھیپھڑوں کی بیماریاں، دماغ اور دیگر نفسیاتی مسائل بڑھا دیے ہیں۔ آلودہ ہوا کی وجہ سے شہریوں کی صحت پر برا اثر پڑتا ہے خصوصا بچوں، بوڑھوں اور حاملہ خواتین اس میں شامل ہیں۔

ہوائی آلودگی سے بچاؤ کے لیے احتیاطی تدابیر:

1۔ بلا ضرورت باہر جانے سے اجتناب کریں۔
2. سموگ میں بچوں اور بوڑھوں کو باہر نکالنے سے پرہیز کریں۔
3. ہوا میں موجود باریک ذرات کی موجودگی میں باہر ورزش کرنے سے گریز کریں۔
4. ذیادہ سے زیادہ پانی پییں تاکہ جسم الودگی سے متاثر نہ ہو۔
5. جب باہر نکلیں تو ماسک کا استعمال کریں۔
6.ذاتی گاڑیوں کے زیادہ استعمال سے بچیں اور عوامی نقل و حمل کا استعمال کریں۔
7. باغبانی اور شجرکاری کو فروغ دیں تاکہ زیادہ سے زیادہ ہوا میں آلودگی کو کم کیا جا سکے۔
