🧠 * *Psychopathologies* *Conversion Disorder* & *Relaxation Techniques* on Friday 3rd April، 2026.The lecture was conducted by *Ms. Mamoona khan** Clinical Psychologists, PIMH and *Mr Moeen Ahmad* clinical psychologist.
🎯 The objective of lecture was
To help interns recognize *functional neurological symptoms* early and avoid unnecessary investigations
To improve ability to differentiate organic vs psychogenic presentations in clinical settings.

*🌟 Empowering Future Leaders – Successful CME Session* – *Motivational Lecture* 🌟

*The Punjab Institute of Mental Health (PIMH),* Lahore successfully conducted a highly *impactful CME Motivational Lecture* on Thursday, 2nd April at ATC, PIMH under the *Visionary leadership of Executive Director Prof Dr Aysha Rashid .*

The session was skillfully *moderated* by *Ms. Aqila Unbrin* (Principal Clinical Psychologist / Secretary CME) and commenced with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, setting a thoughtful and inspiring tone for the event.

A *warm welcome note* and *introduction* of the distinguished guest speaker was presented *by Prof. Dr. Aysha Rashid ( Executive Director, PIMH).*

🎤 The *highlight* of the session was the enlightening Motivational Lecture by *Honourable Prof. Dr. Khalid Masood Gondal (Tamgha-e-Imtiaz & Presidential Pride of Performance).*
He delivered an inspiring address to PGRs, encouraging them to strengthen their professional capabilities and vision.

*Prof Dr Khalid Masood Gondal* is a highly distinguished medical educationist, currently serving as *Vice Chancellor of Fatima Jinnah Medical University,* and he is serving as *President of CPSP.* He holds a PhD in Medical Education and has *over 100 research publications* to his credit.
Among his *notable recognitions are Tamgha-e-Imtiaz (2013) and Presidential Pride of Performance (2020) awarded by the Government of Pakistan.* He has also received multiple Lifetime Achievement Awards from prestigious institutions including Khyber Medical University, Society of Surgeons Pakistan, PGMI Lahore, and Old Ravian Union, along with the Academic Excellence Award by the Governor of Punjab (2023).

Upon highlighting these remarkable achievements, the worthy guest received a *standing ovation* from the participants as a gesture of appreciation for his outstanding services and contributions to medical education.

✨ *Key highlights* from his talk:
• Insightful overview of the journey and achievements of CPSP in Pakistan
• Announcement of 2-year training opportunities in Ireland for PGRs after IMM, with CPSP facilitation
• Encouraging international collaborations with Middle Eastern countries such as Kuwait and Qatar

👨‍⚕️ The session was *further honored by the presence of renowned psychiatrist Prof. Dr. Ali Madeeh Hashmi,* one of pioneers of psychiatry at PIMH. He is widely recognized for his significant contributions to the development and promotion of psychiatry and in mental health awareness.

👥 The event *witnessed active participation* from administrative staff, teaching faculty, doctors, PGRs, and clinical psychologists, making it a truly engaging academic gathering. A great number of participants attended the lecture.

The worthy guest interacted with *Teaching Faculty** including *Prof Dr Nauman Mazher, Prof Dr Saqib Bajwa, Dr Farasat Ali, Dr Ghulam Hassan, Dr Ragina Mehmood, Dr Ali Anjum, Dr Numan Ahmad, Dr Zainab Mehmood, Dr Iqra Shakoor, Dr Rana Nasir, Dr Aneel Shafi, Dr Nadia Haroon, and Dr Khadija* who participated in the lecture.

*Clinical Psychologists** including *Dr Rukhsana Kauser, Ms Samavia Hussain, Ms Alina Naveed, Ms Memoona Khan, Mr Yousaf Raza, Mr Moeen ,Ms Tabinda, Ms Sadaf Saleem, and Ms Yarusha* also attended the lecture and they were also part of organizing team for this lecture.
From *Administrative Staff* , *Dr Ateeq, Dr Romana Ishfaq, Dr Munazza Niazi, Dr Tahira Arshad, Dr Ahmad, khalid Mehmood (DDF) ,Dr Tayyab, Dr Anjsha , Dr Maham , Dr Farhan Jabbar, Mr Javaid chief pharmacist , Dr Bilawal * and *Ms Nasreen Akhtar* Nursing Superintendent participated.

A great number of *Post Graduate Residents (PGRs)* attended the lecture enthusiastically and found guidance for their future.

🙏 The session concluded with a *heartfelt vote of thanks* by *Prof. Dr. Nauman Mazher.*

A *commemorative souvenir* was presented to the honorable guest speaker *by Prof. Dr. Aysha Rashid, Prof. Dr. Ali Madeeh Hashmi, and the teaching faculty as a token of appreciation.*

*Healing with Happiness: Eid Festivities for Patients at PIMH*

Wellness Club , Punjab Institute of Mental Health (PIMH) organized an Eid celebration for patients, to share happiness of Eid, to promote hope, compassion, and a sense of belonging.

Executive Director *Professor Dr. Ayesha Rashid* joined the event as *Chief Guest* along with *Dr. Ateeq* (AMS Admin), *Ms. Aqila Unbrin* (Chairperson Wellness Club), *Dr. Munaza Niazi*( Incharge Rehab unit) , *Dr. Ahmed* ,( AMS M&R), *Dr. Maham Hameed* (Member Wellness Club), *MS. Nasreen Akhtar* (Nursing Superintendent), *dr Rukhsana Kauser* *Ms Sadaf Saleem* , *Ms Tasmia, Ms Tabinda*Mr Yousaf Raza (Clinical Psychologists) *Ms.Sidra Zakir* ( Medical Social Officer) and *Ms. Sunnya Roger* ( Member Wellness Club ).

**Executive Director* *Prof. Dr. Aysha Rashid* highlighted that Eid conveys a message of love, empathy, and unity. She reiterated the institution’s commitment to providing a supportive and caring environment where patients feel valued, connected, and part of a family.

Gifts were distributed among all unit patients, and patients actively participated in festive activities, including songs and poetry, creating a joyful atmosphere.

*Building Resilience: Stress Management Workshop for PGRs at PIMH*

To address the rising stress and psychological challenges faced by medical trainees, *Medical Education & Counselling Department of PIMH in Collaboration with Wellness Club* by Department of Clinical Psychology organized an interactive Stress Management Workshop for postgraduate residents (PGRs). The session focused on practical coping strategies to manage academic pressure, workplace stress, and enhance psychological wellbeing.
This CME activity held under the *patronage of Prof. Dr. Aysha Rashid,* Executive Director, the workshop organizers were *Prof. Dr. Ammara Butt* and *Ms. Aqila Unbrin,* Principal Clinical Psychologist,
*Facilitators *Ms. Sara Ishaq and Mr. Yousaf Raza*( Clinical Psychologists) led engaging activities, relaxation techniques, and scenario-based discussions to help participants develop healthier ways of managing stress.
*Ms. Aqila Unbrin* highlighted the growing need for such initiatives to support postgraduate residents and promote better psychological wellbeing in demanding medical environments.
In her remarks, *Prof. Dr. Ammara Butt* emphasized the importance of learning to manage everyday stressors, while *Prof. Dr. Aysha Rashid* concluded by encouraging skill building, realistic expectations, and the practice of gratitude to strengthen psychological wellbeing.

*🌙 “Breaking Stigma, Sharing Compassion: Avicenna Students Celebrate Ramadan with PIMH Patients”*

The *Wellness Club* of Punjab Institute of Mental Health (PIMH), Lahore, in collaboration with *Avicenna Medical & Dental College* , successfully organized a **Ramazan Kareem Aftari for Destitute / Homeless patients of PIMH* .

The event was graced by *Prof. Dr. Aysha Rashid,* Executive Director PIMH, who joined the gathering and appreciated the MBBS students of Avicenna Medical College for their compassionate community initiative for psychiatric patients.
*Dr. Shandana* , Co-Chairperson from Avicenna Medical College, highlighted the importance of community service and encouraged students to dedicate time and empathy to patients who are often neglected by their families.
*Ms. Aqila Unbrin* , Principal Clinical Psychologist, emphasized the need to destigmatize psychiatric illnesses and oriented the students about the Wellness Club at PIMH and its objectives.

The students engaged patients in *Ramadan-themed activities, including quizzes and a Naat competition,* where patients shared the importance of Ramadan. Gifts were distributed among the patients, and the students also shared Aftar with the residents of PIMH, reflecting true compassion and inclusion.

The visiting students were also given a *briefing about PIMH* and the mental health services provided by the institute. Both institutions expressed their commitment to future collaborations for meaningful community initiatives benefiting PIMH patients.

*✨ Let’s Celebrate the Spirit of Ramadan Together ✨*

A beautiful Ramadan gathering was organized by *Ms. Shumaila Jabeen (Senior Clinical Psychologist)* and her dedicated interns in collaboration with the *Wellness Club* Convened by *Ms Aqila Unbrin ,* Principal Clinical Psychologist 🌙📖
The session featured Tilawat-e-Quran, Naat-e-Rasool (SAW), an Islamic discussion, and an engaging quiz, creating a warm and reflective atmosphere for everyone present. The patients recited heartfelt Naat e Rasool e Maqbool.
We were honored by the presence of the Unit C Head, Registrar, and PGRs, and especially grateful that *Executive Director PIMH, Prof. Dr. Aysha Rashid,* joined the session herself. She appreciated the wonderful efforts of Ms. Shumaila Jabeen and the Wellness Club and emphasized that such meaningful activities should continue in the future. 💫
