The Prophet (p.b.u.h) said, "Whoever takes a bath on Friday, purifies himself as much as he can, then uses his (hair) oil or perfumes himself with the scent of his house, then proceeds (for the Jumua prayer) and does not separate two persons sitting together (in the mosque), then prays as much as (Allah has) written for him and then remains silent while the Imam is delivering the Khutba, his sins in-between the present and the last Friday would be forgiven."

’’حضرت عمرو بن شعیب اپنے باپ اور اپنے دادا سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ حضورنبی اکرم ﷺ نے فرمایا : جمعہ کے دن فرشتوں کو مساجد کے دروازوں پر بھیج دیا جاتا ہے اور وہ لوگوں کی آمد لکھتے رہتے ہیں۔ جب امام آ جاتا ہے تو قلم روک لیے جاتے ہیں اور رجسٹر بند کر دیئے جاتے ہیں۔ فرشتے ایک دوسرے سے کہتے ہیں : فلاں آدمی کو (جمعہ میں آنے سے) کسی چیز نے روکا ہے۔ پھر کہتے ہیں : اے اللہ! اگر وہ گمراہ ہے تو اسے ہدایت دے، اگر وہ بیمار ہے تو اسے شفا دے اور اگر وہ تنگ دست ہے تو اسے دولت مند بنا۔‘‘
