3 months ago, my 32 year old daughter took several multivitamin / mineral tablets ( magnesium, digestive enzymes, Vit D3 ) in the course of 2 weeks.
After taking each tablet, she felt pain across her liver and gallbladder area. She would stop one medication and pick a different one, thinking it must be the medicine itself causing issue, so she tried different one.
Within two weeks, her liver became severely inflamed and she was in severe pain.
Turns out she had an unknown allergy to the Microcrystalline Cellulose which is used to create capsule shells. And this affected her liver.
So the problem wasn't with the vitamins or minerals, but rather the capsule shells itself.
She had severe itching that came on since that day and she could not sit 20 seconds without itching all over her body.
I am in Pakistan for holiday, so I was not aware of the situation as she hid her symptoms as she felt ashamed of messing around with medication without consultation.
I have been in Homeopathic Practice for 31 years. When my wife called to tell me of the situation I suggested a homeo medicine ( name withdrawn ), which helps to remove impurities from the blood that had come from effect of medications ( she had bile salts accumulated in her blood due to injury to her liver / gallbladder from the medication )
She had been suffering severe itching for 3 weeks non stop. We tried first with single dose of 200, which didn't work, then tried again with single dose of 30, and within an hour **all** her itching stopped **completely**.
Suffice to say she learnt her lesson to not take medications ( even vitamins ) without consultation and if body is reacting, then not to try any other medication without learning the cause of reaction.
She is completely cured of her itching since that one dose and we are working to recover the inflammation and injury to her gallbladder / liver from the allergic reaction to Microcrystalline.
This is one of many cases I've come across and dealt with in my 31 years of experience in Homeopathic Practice in both UK and Pakistan.
