Aoa...this is a public service message for all ...
I am a physician working in Lahore and there is an epidemic of Hepatitis E going around...literally speaking every second patient coming to us has jaundice due to hepatitis E..all the gastroenterologists, infectious disease specialists and physicians in my circle are alarmed by this situation...it is a waterborne infectious illness that is especially dangerous for pregnant women and little children..two precautions that need to be followed strictly to prevent its spread:
1. Handwashing...instruct ur kids, family members, house help to wash their hands repeatedly and frequently..in and out of the kitchen, before and after food intake, in the washrooms...wash YOUR hands..
2. Please drink boiled water, only way to kill the virus..even filtered water, mineral water is not reliable...(and it goes without saying, "bahir ka khana" is therefore very very risky as u dont know their water source)
EDIT: the symptoms usually include fever, abdominal pain, lethargy, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite and yellowness of the eyes and skin..
Spread the message far and wide..feel free to copy paste.
