This can help reduce insulin resistance and improve the way your body uses insulin.
Some studies suggest that intermittent fasting may improve cognitive function by promoting the growth of new nerve cells in the brain, enhancing neural plasticity, and increasing the production of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), a protein that supports the survival and growth.
