Today, on Teacher’s Day, I wish to introduce someone who needs no introduction — Prof. Ather Enam, one of the most influential mentors and human beings I have ever known.

When I joined him as a fellow in 2021, I was still navigating my path, uncertain about where I truly belonged. It was Prof. Enam who gave me optimism, clarity, and the courage to stay, to believe that meaningful work could be built here, at home. His mentorship shaped my journey and strengthened my sense of purpose.

Today, as I serve as Head of Neurosurgery, he remains my closest advisor, my advocate, and an unwavering source of guidance, still sending patients, references, and encouragement with the same kindness and trust.

True mentors like him remind us that teaching goes far beyond classrooms and hospitals; it’s about shaping lives. May we all find someone like Prof. Enam, and may we, in turn, become that same source of hope and strength for others.
