Ed Morton is an Engineer Accredited in Conservation and the Managing Director of The Morton Partnership, a firm of civil and structural engineers and historic building specialists, with some 30 employees. The company is renowned nationally and internationally for its conservation work. Ed is an Engineer accredited in conservation through the CARE scheme run by the Institution of Civil Engineers and Institution of Structural Engineers and currently chair of the Panel.

Ed is Engineer to Canterbury Cathedral, York Minster, Westminster Abbey, Ely, and Southwark Cathedral’s and is currently also working on projects at several other Cathedrals.

Recent projects include a rolling programme of re-roofing Barry’s cast iron roofs at The Palace of Westminster, ‘The Canterbury Journey’, The City Hall in Georgetown, Guyana, The Hessischer Hoff in Treffurt, Germany and The Iron Bridge to name a few. Other foreign work has included work in Malta, Hong Kong, Cyprus and the Falkland Islands.

Ed has worked on several hundred churches and is honouree engineering advisor to Chelmsford, Canterbury, Rochester and London DAC’s. He lectures widely on Conservation Engineering
