Students from KMU Institute of Pathology and Diagnostic Medicine (IPDM) 8th Semester volunteered to work with PHRL KMU to gain hands-on experience in disease surveillance and laboratory testing.

*Deployment Highlights:*

Location: Pir Baba Hospital, Buner
Dates: August 30 - October 1, 2025
Total Samples Processed: 5,822

*Key Findings:*

Malaria: 115 positive cases out of 1,648 tested
Dengue: 6 positive cases out of 587 tested
HAV: 1 positive case out of 139 tested
Blood Cultures: 125 positive out of 259
Urine Cultures: 64 positive out of 228

*Additional Tests Conducted:*

COVID-19
Influenza (PCR)
HEV
Monkeypox
Chikungunya
Stool Cultures
Urine R/E
CBC

This partnership not only supported the mobile lab's operations but also enhanced the university's research capabilities. The students gained invaluable insights into public health emergencies and the importance of rapid diagnostics in preventing disease outbreaks.
