Message from Dr. Gul Zaman sb.

Dear all Physical Therapists of Pakistan,Just to give you the clarification regarding the false propaganda against PPTA BODs and some senior physical therapists by few physical therapists.
As you know that draft of council was approved by last Government cabinet division.After that we regularly followed it and was in process. In the meanwhile government tenure was finished and care taker government came .They told us that it will be processed by the new elected governament.
In PTI government we came to know that now this issue will be deal by Health Task force made by prime minister of Pakistan. Dr Muhammad khan Director physiotherapy and Rehabilitation approached Prof Dr Nowsherwan Burki chairman Health task force and talked with him several times, sent email him several times and insisted on independent Pakistan Physical therapy council. Dr nowsherwan Burki was/is in favour of allied health council. Dr Muhammad khan was/is in contact with me (Dr. Gul Zaman), Dr Abid Minhas , Dr Asghar Khan sir, Dr Ashfaq Ahmad sb chairman BODs, Dr Asif Gulzar Shaikh sb etc taking advice, asking for evidences for independent physical therapy council and tried his best to convince Dr nowsherwan Burki for indepent council. Dr Abid Minhas sb also tried his best through email to chairman task force and member task force to convince them and take time for meeting. I (Gul zaman) personally as member board of Director PPTA met Dr Nowsherwan Burki along with Dr Muhammad khan on 26.02.2019 and gave him an application for independent Pakistan Physical Therapy council. I (Gul Zaman) also met with nursing director LRH Shaheen ghani along with Dr Muhammad khan member health task force and told her to give your vote for independent physical therapy council and also met in Karachi with Prof Dr abdul bari member HTF for independent PPTC. Recently we came to know that HTF approved allied health council for 40 round about profession including physical therapy. We did recently two meeting in Islamabad one last night and one on 05.04.2019. We made a task force on Islamabad level. Dr Rabnwaz PT is their head. All Senior PTs and PPTA officials are supporting them.They have already started work on it.They are also working on DG and ministry level along with our seniors. We are trying our best and will go to the last limit. We are thinking countrywise demonstration and will inform you all accordingly.
As for as WCPT is concerned we answer all their question. We paid membership fee,we sent the country profile, I (Gul Zaman) will attend the WCPT general meeting on 8th and 9th May in Geneva on behalf of PPTA Pakistan.This was all due to team work. Thanks to my organization ICRC and my bosses for sponsoring me and making all arrangements for me.This was the condition of WCPT that one person will come from PPTA official and will attend the general meeting. I am also thankful to Chairman PPTA,secretary BODs and BODs PPTA for recommending me.I am also thankful to those physical therapists currently have no designation of PPTA but working for PPTA.
Dr Abid Minhas sb and his team also met Dr. Faisal Sultan & Dr. Aamer Aziz (Members of HTF) in lahore and asked for support for independent PT council. But unfortunately decision was made by Chairman HTF one sided.
We as PPTA officials and all Senior Therapist are working on all possible options to address the issue. We are not hopeless and will put our max efforts to revert the decison including peaceful demonstration and available legal options.
