Urban Rooftop Farming Favors Local Food Production.
Although rooftop farming is perceived as a sustainable system. There, we set up experiments on the rooftop garden of a Sustainable Development Foundation building in Sanghar using low cost technique utilizing used material (used wooden boxes). We grew leafy vegetables, using soil cultivation techniques. We also grew tomato, chili pepper, eggplant, melon, watermelon on soils. After getting the successful result through this experimental rooftop farming this technique will be pilot at other sites as well to meet the food security issues. This activity was conducted by SDF utilizing own resources on August 14, 2021.
