25 December Quaid-e-Azam Day
Millat ka Pasban he
Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah was one of the most inspiring leaders this world has ever seen. His tireless determination, his fearless tenacity, and his unerring leadership are all legend. However, one of the most interesting aspects of this man's personality is the balance between east and west.
Jinnah carried his sherwani and cap just as well as he did his suit, monocle, and slick hair. In a multi-cultural, post colonial society, where the muslims of South Asia were grappling with their religious identity and british ideals Jinnah towed the line between the two to perfection. He wore his suits and smoked his ci**rs without shame but he also donned his sherwani and cap with pride. He spoke of his passion for Islam and the Holy Prophet's way of life with zest but he also never seemed to hide his western ideals to strengthen his religious views.
A weaker man may try to find one clean and clear aspect to his personality and stick to it but it is the strength of Jinnah's character that allowed him to live such a nuanced life without ever being forced to act in a particular way. If we can pray for just one thing to Allah, then its that we wish Quaid-e-Azam had stayed with this nation for longer than he did because we have never had a leader who has captured this nation's imagination like him. There is simply no one who can muster the same moral authority on Pakistan than Jinnah! To the man who made this nation, to the man who taught us how to live, and to the man whose tireless efforts gave us a free nation we say, Thank You Jinnah. May Allah grant you the highest place in the heavens.
