We're proud to share the latest article on the applications of (XR) in interventional cardiology published in the European Heart Journal —
https://lnkd.in/gVdBsu5q

💡 For a long time there was a lack of a strong technical overview comparing different platforms used in medical practice. In this review you'll find a comprehensive summary of available technologies — , , — including hardware and software solutions applied in interventional cardiology so far.

🔎 The complexity of cardiac anatomy and spatial relationships between structures creates a real challenge in planning and performing cardiac interventions. While conventional imaging (like CT, MRI, echocardiography) remains the gold standard it doesn't always capture the full picture in 3D.

That's where XR comes in — offering immersive visualization, interactive anatomical exploration and better spatial orientation for procedural planning and intra-procedural navigation.

Our paper presents:
✅ current medical applications
✅ key technical aspects
✅ advantages, drawbacks & limitations
✅ a roadmap for implementing XR tools in real-world clinical practice

Thinking about starting your journey with XR in cardiology?
We highly recommend reading our latest publication!
