Lecithin: briefly about the main

Taking care of health in its modern sense involves not only giving up bad habits, but also providing the body with enough nutrients, including lecithin. It acts as a building material for cells and is necessary for the normal functioning of the liver, nervous system, brain tissues, etc.

☝ Lecithin application
Lecithin is a universal substance that is widely used in cosmetology and food industry, as well as in medicine. It is indicated for the prevention and treatment of liver diseases.

There is also information that lecithin is applied:
1. For weight loss, through metabolism improvement.
2. For the prevention of stress disorders, both in adults and children, providing an effective treatment for depression and neuroses.
3. To slow down the progression of atherosclerosis.
4. To lower the level of blood viscosity, and, therefore, reduce the risk of blood clots.
5. To reduce the level of "bad" cholesterol.
6. In the field of women's health to normalize the monthly cycle and activate the ovaries.
7. Lecithin is also a common substance among athletes, helping them to increase their physical endurance and to accelerate the recovery speed of muscle tissue.

☝What types of lecithin exist and raw materials for their production
Natural lecithin comes in two types of origin: animal and vegetable. It is found in many foods that you can add to your daily menu:
- egg yolks;
- nuts and peanuts;
- non-frozen beef and beef liver;
- vegetables such as carrots, cabbages and leafy salads;
- cottage cheese and yoghurts;
- butter and cream;
- buckwheat, etc.

As well as soy and soy products, sunflower seeds, and unrefined vegetable oils.

☝Sunflower lecithin is an innovative product!
If the original source of lecithin was egg yolk, a natural product, now its production is focused mainly on the use of soybean oil. But there is a better alternative - sunflower lecithin.

Why is sunflower lecithin better than soy?
Modern raw materials for the production of lecithin are vegetable oils: soybean and sunflower. And if there are more and more questions about the origin of soy and its allergic properties, then sunflower oil becomes the best alternative.

Sunflower lecithin has a number of important advantages compared to soy lecithin:
1. No risk of allergic reactions caused by intolerance to soy.
2. No risk of lecithin production from genetically modified raw materials, since sunflower lecithin is obtained from sunflower seeds grown by conscientious domestic producers.
3. The absence of phytoestrogens in the composition of sunflower lecithin, which are present in the composition of soy. Why are these substances harmful? Its similarity with the female s*x hormone - estrogen, which can have a negative effect on the male body.

Finally, we note that today evidence-based medicine has already officially included lecithin in the list of products that can significantly improve health.

is largely beneficial and has a significant nutritional impact, one of the primary benefits affects cognitive function. It’s very effective at reducing decline and improves mental processes such as memory.

Lecithin also has a positive effect on lowering cholesterol levels. This is achieved by increased liver production of good cholesterol, which eliminates bad cholesterol in blood vessels, ultimately reducing the risk of health complications stemming from plaque build up.

As an it helps to counteract free radicals in the body, which has a positive effect on the skin also.

While lecithin has positive effects, there can be negative effects too, particularly concerning soybean lecithin consumption during pregnancy - we can only speak to the scientific facts, and not in the capacity of medical advice, so we suggest consulting with a doctor to clarify if lecithin will benefit you. What we can say is that we take great care in producing clean, natural Lecithin.

Baked Goods is another massive industry that uses to create better products. Last year (2020) the global baked goods market was valued at approximately $507 Billion and is growing steadily. So let’s take a closer look at what role lecithin has in making baked goods.

We’ve previously mentioned emulsifying applications, and this rings true to baked products particularly. Because lecithin is a natural product it is perfect for this purpose, but it is not the only reason it is used.

Baked goods benefit from much longer shelf life when made with lecithin, it gives dough more elasticity, strength, and consistency. Furthermore its antioxidant properties and nutritional benefits make products healthier, and it has a desirable effect on the texture and structure of goods.

Although we produce from sunflowers, it actually has many sources. Lecithin is naturally found in meats, vegetables, eggs, essentially every plant and animal has some type of lecithin. Most lecithin producers use soybeans because they’re efficient on an industrial scale, but soybean lecithin typically comes with a lower quality compared to other sources. The properties of produced lecithin are directly related to the source.

Common sources of lecithin
Soybeans
Rapeseed
Milk
Egg Yolk
Cottonseed
Sunflowers

While meats also have lecithin, they are rarely if ever used for lecithin production because it’s inefficient to do so. Sunflower lecithin can be extracted without using chemicals, unlike soybean lecithin, which is an important factor in our decision to focus on sunflower lecithin. We value quality, which is why it matters to us how we source and produce our lecithin.

There is no doubt as to the effectiveness of supplements, much like cod liver oil, it’s a well researched and known substance that occurs naturally and is proven to be very beneficial for general wellbeing. We have the capabilities and expertise to produce this, but let’s talk the language of business - what do numbers say about the dietary supplements market?

Last year (2020) the global dietary supplements market was valued at $140.3 Billion, projections indicate an 8.6% CAGR from 2021 to 2028 reaching $272.4 Billion in 2028. In a broader scope - global wellbeing is a $1.5 Trillion market, with an annual growth of 5-10%, of which dietary supplements are a significant portion. All of this is indicative of consumer awareness and growing demand for supplements that cater to their wellbeing needs.

We are very keen on this market, it’s lucrative and growing steadily with a positive impact on people worldwide. Plus, we have something to offer with our R&D capabilities, particularly regarding Sunflower Lecithin.

is a naturally occurring , which for the majority of the population is safe and has no adverse effects, this makes it ideal for pharmaceutical uses and as a dietary supplement. There are a number of medications that use Lecithin as an ingredient but it’s most common use in medicines is as a wetting agent, dispersing agent, carrier, and emulsifier. It’s even used in IV emulsions.

Naturally, with so many applications it has no shortage of demand in pharmaceuticals, but perhaps more interestingly, recent studies are exploring new applications of Lecithin as it is known to have a very different composition from other sources of Lecithin.

Beauty and personal care is a huge industry valued at around $511 billion globally - and is used extensively in a wide range of beauty products. The reason for this is that Lecithin has special properties that make it extremely versatile - for one it can protect skin by physically preventing liquids and moisture from penetrating it, while also being great at penetrating skin itself, which is what makes it so diverse. Creams and oils are where Lecithin shines the most in cosmetics, and the fact that it is also an ideal emulsifier makes sure it’s always in high demand for other product lines too.
