Polish validation of the LGBTQ+ Healthcare Experiences Scale (LGBTQ+ HCES)

Highlights

• LGBTQ+ Healthcare Experiences Scale (LGBTQ+ HCES) validated in Poland, filling a critical gap in assessing LGBTQ+ patient experiences within healthcare.
• Three-factor model established – Respect and Inclusivity, Discrimination and Microaggressions, Trust and Comfort – with excellent fit indices (comparative fit index [CFI] = 0.998, root mean square error of approximation (RMSEA) = 0.041).
• Strong reliability across subscales (Cronbach’s α = 0.745–0.778; McDonald’s ω = 0.92) and no floor/ceiling effects confirm measurement robustness.
• LGBTQ+ HCES provides a reliable tool for research and health system improvement, enabling progress toward inclusive, equitable healthcare delivery in Poland.

Szanowni Państwo,

Jako promotor pracy doktorskiej mgr Katarzyny Mróz-Kijowskiej, realizowanej na Uniwersytet Medyczny im. Piastów Śląskich we Wrocławiu, mam przyjemność zaprosić Państwa do udziału w badaniu naukowym.

Pierwszy etap projektu obejmuje adaptację kulturowo-językową kwestionariusza służącego do oceny jakości życia pacjentów z problemami owłosionej skóry głowy i włosów.

Poszukujemy osób pełnoletnich (18+), u których lekarz zdiagnozował problem wypadania włosów. Wypełnienie ankiety zajmie około 12 minut, a jej wyniki pozwolą lepiej zrozumieć potrzeby pacjentów i opracować skuteczniejsze formy wsparcia.

Osoby LGBTQIA+ wciąż doświadczają nierówności zdrowotnych – od barier w dostępie do opieki, po skutki stresu mniejszościowego i dyskryminacji. Przekłada się to na ich dobrostan, częstsze występowanie chorób przewlekłych oraz – co szczególnie niepokojące – mniejszą gotowość do korzystania z usług ochrony zdrowia.

Ten warsztat wyposaży personel medyczny w konkretne kompetencje i narzędzia, które pomogą tworzyć środowisko opieki:

This Call for Submissions invites Expressions of Interest for a Special Collection of _Advances in Clinical and Experimental Medicine_, focusing on LGBT+ health equity and innovation.

LGBT+ individuals around the world face unique and persistent health disparities driven by stigma, discrimination, and systemic exclusion from healthcare systems. These inequities result in significantly worse physical and mental health outcomes and limit access to inclusive, culturally competent care.

This Special Collection will offer researchers and clinicians an opportunity to publish original research, meta-analyses, and review articles that address these disparities and propose inclusive, personalized, and innovative solutions to improve health outcomes for LGBT+ populations.
