𝐏𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐎𝐥𝐲𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐚𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐀𝐥-𝐈𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐪𝐥𝐚𝐥 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲
The Ministry of Education and Higher Education وزارة التربية والتعليم العالي , in collaboration with the Welfare Association - Taawon مؤسسة التعاون and the , successfully concluded on Thursday January 15, 2026, the fourth and final stage of the 2026 Palestinian Mathematics Olympiad. This stage featured a winter camp, graciously hosted by Al-Istiqlal University in Jericho.
A total of 53 students from grades ten and eleven participated in this stage, from which 12 outstanding students will be selected to represent Palestine in mathematics competitions at the Arab, regional, and international levels.
During the closing ceremony, participants highlighted the importance of nurturing students’ scientific creativity within schools and developing their mathematical skills, ideas, and potential. They stressed the value of building on these efforts, supporting talented students, and providing opportunities to broaden their horizons both locally and globally. The attendees also expressed their appreciation for the collaborative partnership between the Ministry and the academic and community institutions involved.
The winter camp offered a diverse range of training sessions and interactive activities, running throughout the week, designed to enhance students’ problem-solving and critical thinking skills, supervised by the Directorate General of Innovation and Excellence, the Palestinian Mathematics Olympiad aims to foster critical and creative thinking, strengthen mathematical competencies, and cultivate problem-solving abilities among school students.
