Throwback moment of the month 👇

🇬🇧 This photo represents a lot! After 1+ years working from home this was the first time most of our team had the opportunity to be together for the first time.

For the last few months, the team had the opportunity to learn about design thinking and how we can use it in our day-to-day to help us be more human centric, more creative, to find better processes, services and ultimately deliver a better product.

The interesting thing was that, in every challenge and every debate, the methodology we learned in design thinking was the one the team naturally gravitated towards. Very rewarding to see how that framework is now intertwined in everything we do. 🚀

Although this is a continuous process, and we do want to keep on learning and improving, we can’t discard how much of a change it already brought us.

The Value-based Healthcare in Cataract Surgery ( ), a public-private partnership with 13 public and private ophthalmology centres in Portugal supported by Promptly and Health Cluster Portugal, is now part of the first Global Innovation Hub, an initiative of the World Economic Forum Coalition for Value in Healthcare.

The Global Innovation Hub serves as a collaborative platform to accelerate the pace of outcomes-based transformation in healthcare systems around the world by identifying mature initiatives as .

🇬🇧🔔 On the occasion of the moment to listen to World Obesity Federation is more relevant than ever. The most important lesson that we’ve learned, as a health outcomes company, was Tackle The Roots.

In the words of the World Health Organization (Eastern Mediterranean Regional Office) “People with obesity are constantly shamed and blamed because many - including doctors, policymakers, and others - do not fully understand the root causes of obesity, which are often a complex mixture of dietary, lifestyle, genetic, psychological, sociocultural, economic and environmental factors. It is time we break the cycle of shame and blame and reevaluate our approach for addressing this complex global public health problem.“. But what can we do?

Our commitment for 2021 is to listen to our patients, their medical teams and the amazing studies that are being made in this area. A clear example is this study by Stanford Medicine on How digital health tracking tools can make a difference in the patient health outcomes. 👇👀

🇵🇹 🔔 Lançamos o primeiro relatório anual do CAT.PT, um projeto nacional coordenado pelo Professor Joaquim Murta do Centro Hospitalar Universitário de Coimbra, e no qual participam 12 instituições de saúde.
Utilizando a plataforma da Promptly, estes hospitais monitorizam os
resultados de saúde dos doentes, e fazem benchmarking dos seus
resultados, procurando melhorar os cuidados de saúde prestados.

Nas palavras do Prof. Joaquim Murta, “O objetivo das instituições deve ser direcionado na avaliação e diferenciação dos “resultados”, com informação contínua aos clínicos e população em geral, permitindo aos doentes fazerem escolhas informadas.”

Um caminho pioneiro que está a ser trilhado em conjunto com o Centro Hospitalar da Universidade de Coimbra, o Grupo CUF, a Unidade de Oftalmologia de Coimbra – UOC, o Centro Hospitalar de São João, o Centro Hospitalar do Porto, o Hospital de Braga, o Centro Hospitalar de Lisboa Norte, o Instituto Gama Pinto, o Health Cluster Portugal, a Novartis, a Alcon, a Bayer e a Edol.

"How will this treatment affect my quality of life?"

This is the question that most patients ask every day and that lacks a reliable answer. In order to address this gap in healthcare, a group of physicians has created Promptly, an online platform where the community of patients actively shares their health outcomes. These outcomes will be generators of information, easily accessible and useful to other patients who need this valuable information. On the other hand, the analysis and processing of the reported data will make doctors and hospitals get knowledge and improve the value proposition of the care they provide to their patients.

Promptly is part of the Proef Group and represents a strategic move for the Group in the healthcare sector. The core areas of the Proef Group, namely Telecommunications, Engineering and Innovation, are important for Promptly to rapidly boost the incorporation of innovative solutions in healthcare, for the benefit of patients, doctors and a better and more effective health system.

Our mission is to build a community of patients who actively share their clinical outcomes, about their disease and treatments.

As part of this community, patients will know what to expect from their disease, reported by the voice of who matters most: thousands of other patients who have already been in the same situation. Through the processing of the reported data, we will be able to create and share new knowledge with healthcare providers so that they can improve their outcomes and offer better care to the population.
