ABDOMINAL DETOX MASSAGE- Chi Nei Tsang
INTRODUCTION AND HISTORY OF THE TECHNIQUE:
Chi Nei Tsang is a therapeutical abdominal massage technique developed by the Taoist sages of ancient China. The translation literally means: 'working on the energy of internal organs.'
The Taoist sages believed that by applying the healing touch on our vital abdominal organs ( liver, stomach, kidneys etc.) will detoxify, tonify and energize them in order to function more efficiently. By releasing the blockages on the physical level, we are also working on the emotional and energetic stagnations beyond the physical level.
Chi Nei Tsang is a powerful detoxifying tool you can apply daily in order to strenghten your immune system, heal the digestive system, release tension in the spinal area, balance the hormones and generally increase the flow of energy.
SOME BENEFITS OF THE TECHNIQUE:
This abdominal massage technique always has the same choreography but depending on the particular physical issuses the client reports, different steps can be applied in order to fully address the area with physical blockages where the client is experiencing pain, discomfort or similar sensations. Sometimes the blockages are of emotional nature but they get 'trapped' in the body's fascia and start causing physical discomfort. By deepening the breath during the massage, the client will open up for releasing all the stress and tension in order to release the energy that is blocked.
Although the technique is performed solely on the abdominal and pelvic area this massage can address issuses in other areas of the body. Since everything in our body is interconnected, the neurotransmitters will carry the information into the organs and cells which need healing.
The technique is proven to work with the following problems:
-Gastrointestinal issues: constipation, bloating, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, acid reflux, intestinal blockages caused by food stagnation
-Hormonal issuses: hormonal disbalance causing menstrual cramps, irregular cycle, polycistic ovaries, premenopausal and menopausal issuses, infertility, problems with the thyroid gland
-Back pain, neck pain, ischiaticus, headaches, migraines,
-Lymph and blood circulation stagnations
-Anxiety, bad sleep, stress, restlessness, emotional trauma, chronic fatigue, low energy
STEP BY STEP TECHNIQUE:
The massage technique centres around acupressure points on the abdominal and pelvic area. The acupressure is soft, gentle and deep but not painful. The therapist applies pressure by following your inhales and exhales. Each time the client exhales, the therapist will deepen the acupressure for better effect. The treatment ends with deep massage movements to release all the tension from the system and bring back lightness into your body. The technique is practised on the floor matress or massage table. The oils used are sesame and coconut oils. It is advisable not to have a big meal 90 minutes prior to the treatment.( The technique shouldn't be practiced during pregnancy.) The treatment lasts 60 minutes.
