Relational Bodywork

Relational Bodywork is touch that listens.

It recognises that bodies respond not only to what is done, but to how it is done — the pacing, the timing, the consent process, and the quality of relationship between practitioner and client.

Rather than imposing change, relational bodywork creates the conditions in which change can emerge. The nervous system is central. Safety, choice, and responsiveness are prioritised over intervention or outcome.

This way of working asks the practitioner to remain attentive not just to the client’s body, but to their own internal state — noticing impulses to fix, push, rescue, or withdraw, and learning to work from clarity rather than habit.

We have a Foundations training starting March and Amplify - Our 6 Months Mentoring container starting April 2026.

Real change doesn’t come from positive thinking alone. 💡
To create lasting transformation, we need to shift three things:

1️⃣ Story – the beliefs we hold about who we are.
2️⃣ State – our emotional + physiological condition.
3️⃣ Strategy – the actions we take.

It all begins with radical acceptance. When we accept where we are without shame, we can let go, choose differently, and step into our power. ✨

Breath, movement, sound, and touch help us shift our state—reminding us we do get to choose how we feel and what we create. 🔥

👉 Save this for when you need motivation.
👉 Share it with someone who’s ready for change.

Thought is born out of known-relationship. We know our brains are wired for safety and survival rather than happiness and satiation/satisfaction.

As we have evolved beyond the times of the Sabertooth tiger, those of us fortunate enough to live in areas and times of relative peace often find that are thinking is not contributing to our well-being and human connection. Why is this?

No consider another kind of intelligence...felt-relationship.. This type of intelligence on the other hand is born out of the living breathing and sensing body and nervous system not the past but the NOW.

In relational Bodywork we put the emphasis on the relationship, the relational quality, the experience of being in connection. , taught me that embodiment and being itself is born out of relationship. We have our relationship to our body, the planet and in the worm touch and Movement. Our primary relationships are our direct experience.

In a world where known-relationship, abstracted knowledge has been put on a pedestal and Rain‘s king I feel it is important to bring emphasis back to our felt sense, our felt relationship and the wisdom of thinking and feeling from the innate intelligence of the present moment this intelligent is alive, receptive and responsive. We are not more intelligent by focusing on choices made from our intellect alone. How can we be more intelligent by only operating from one of our faculties?

If you are inspired to support others and go on your own embodiment journey and get in touch with us and find out about our training programs, mentorship and supervision.

We have events for the public and practitioners.

Relational Bodywork is the meeting point between talk and touch with Somatic (body based) coaching and treatment models. In practice this means that we are person centred, operating in a collaborative co creation of personal leadership. If you are inspired to find out more DM us today and let’s start a conversation :-)

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
In this 4 hour workshop we will cover the fundamental difference between the key ta***ic paths and styles as well as debunk some myths, misconceptions, and common misunderstandings surrounding it.
The workshop will provide you a grounding in a brief history and progression of ta**ra from an ancient lineage steeped in spiritual practices and spiritual science to the reinvention and transformation that occurred when it was brought to the west and adapted to what is called neo-ta**ra today.
As an IC it is important to know the differences and characteristics of the different etiquette of the white, pink, and red ta***ic paths and how that relates for example to the left and right hand paths.. If this topic intrigues you and you would like to be more knowledgeable and valuable to productions that are featuring a ta***ic theme, scene, or storyline then this workshop will give you that ground.
The workshop is going to also be invaluable to those who wish to be part of a well researched portrayal of the nuanced aspects of consent, power balance, and the ethical responsibilities within ta**ra and s*xuality. As a perfect follow up to Julian's last workshop on Embodied Consent, this workshop will go further into the role and responsibilities of group leaders and modern ta**ra practitioners based on the latest viewpoints from the world of embodied ethics and consent understandings. We will also delve into what to look out for and incorporate in the depiction of these topics on screen from both a good and pad practice perspective so as to best illustrate the varied expressions and levels of care present in this field.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
This workshop will be led by Julian Marcus (he/him). Alongside being a somatic s*x educator, embodiment coach, and bodywork teacher for over 20 years, Julian worked parallel to this as a freelance producer/director for contracts that include channel manager and live television production photo and video projects with models, agents, and global clients. This work often included a need to negotiate consent, agreements, and intimacy scenes on set. Julian has worked as a photographer since 2001 in fashion, advertising, personal branding, and with publication and editorial work involving model agency castings. Julian combines the skills he has learned as a somatic educator with his digital media work to create a unique way of dialogue and making agreements that ensures a felt-sense of safety and clear embodied consent on the part of the talent.
Some of the modalities that Julian has trained in that inform his work include the Wheel of Consent, Body Poem, Sexological Bodywork, and Non-Violent Communication. Additionally, Julian holds a BSc. (Honors) in Therapeutic Bodywork, which included over 3,000 hours of supervised practice.
You can learn more about Julian at his website www.feelandfollow.com.

Our summer edition of Lisbon in love really was very special as it was the first addition to be held at a truly private venue. Located in the heart of historical Lisbon one of our team has now purchased a beautiful apartment to hold our dinner parties and events.

Close to Castelo de São Jorge, our new Location, enjoys easy access to some of Lisbon most beautiful viewing platforms and nightlife.

An this, our fifth edition, it was a real pleasure to host as our visiting facilitator sharing her Somatic wisdom and warmth and bringing new friends and connections to the Lisbon in Love series and community.

The conscious embodied relating, Friend making and slow dating continues between and beyond our events with our private telegram group.

We would like to thank everyone who attended and remind anyone who was interested that there will be more events to follow. We will be shortly announcing a couples Lisbon in love “Edition 6”. The Lisbon in love date night will be open to 4 couples to join us for a guided dinner party and deepening connection experience. More to follow shortly on that! If this sounds like something you would be interested in feel free to DM me and express your interest :-)
