🙌🏽 Our true story. A nine-year fight. And a reminder to never stay silent.

For years, my partner was treated for anxiety and depression — no tests, no deeper assessment, just antidepressants for almost 20 years.

But living with him daily, I saw something deeper… something misdiagnosed.
After 9 years, I finally wrote a confidential email to the chief psychiatrist of the clinic he was being treated at. An email he could have ignored — but he didn’t.

He read it.
He listened.
He took my words seriously.

I asked him to reconsider whether this was actually bipolarity & ADHD, and whether he needed mood regulators, not antidepressants.

To my shock — and relief — after observing my partner himself, the chief psychiatrist agreed.
He even told my partner that I was right, expressing genuine surprise and respect that someone close to him had seen what had been overlooked for so long.

He changed the treatment completely to serotonin & mood stabilizers, finally addressing the real issue.

✨ Why am I sharing this?
Because those who live alongside someone struggling — partners, family, friends — often see the truth long before any doctor does.
Because patients stay silent out of shame, confusion, or fear.
Because your observations matter.
Your voice matters.

After years of carrying these stories, memories, and awakenings within me, I am finally ready to share them with the world.

𝐀 𝐉𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐨 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐨𝐦, 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐒𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐅𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 — will take flight on 25•11•2025.

This date holds its own beautiful meaning:
2025 is a 9 year for me in numerology — a number of completion, spiritual alignment, and soulful release.
And 25/11/2025 also reduces to 9, reminding me that:
“What ends doesn’t vanish — it transforms.”

As a holistic therapist, mindfulness coach, philanthropist, entrepreneur, full-time monoparent (both mother and father to my children), mum to three dogs, and a caring companion to my partner, my life has been shaped by courage, transformation, and purpose.

Born in Kuwait to Portuguese-Indian parents, I have journeyed through war, pain, loss, motherhood, love, and healing — rising each time with new understanding, deeper compassion, and renewed strength.

Wings of Becoming is an 80-page paperback memoir, self-published with love and courage through Amazon KDP — my first book ever! 🥰

I’m humbled, grateful, and quite emotional to share that Wings of Becoming is now Open for preorder on Amazon Kindle. 🥹 😊
The paperback edition will be available on the official release day. 🙌🏽 For now, this edition is available in English.
