During a five-hour taxi ride, I had the chance to really sink into a podcast with Bill Burnett & Dave Evans – authors of “How to live a meaningful life” (I’ve already ordered my copy! 🫣)

I’ve listened to A LOT of podcasts with Meaning and Fulfillment at their core, but I truly loved how Bill & Dave highlight that life is less about perfecing our existaece and more about Playing with it.

This isn’t about chasing meaning on some mountaintop, but designing it right here — in the

of daily life.

March: A month of firsts for the barnacle 👶 & 5 weeks back in the tropics 🇱🇰

Early mornings, sleepless nights, precious family time, curry for breakfast / lunch / dinner, barnacle free time (thank you grandparents 🙏) breast milk pumps, baby weaning, tropical fruit platters, rediscovering my ashtanga practice, retreat location scouting, Arrack Attacks, sunshine!, wave surfing, sandy feet, revisiting old haunts, bike rides through the paddy fields, being perpetually covered in; food / vomit / throw up / code brown 😵‍💫, late night tuktuk rides, Sri Lankan smiles, mosquito bites, reconnecting with old friends, , feeling at home 🙌

I hope you have managed to find some Space & Ease as the world continues to shift in the most expected ways. I don’t think any of us could foresee what the last few months have contained and its likely to have bought up a mix of emotions. ⁠

For me, an important tool to help navigate these ever-changing times is to focus and cultivate a sense of ‘Grounding’ into my day-to-day life. ⁠

Whether that be through my physical yoga practice (shifting from an intense physical practise to a slower Yin style of Yoga) through the food I eat (eating heavy, heart-warming, grounding foods) or through meditation.⁠

When we ‘Ground’ we allow ourselves to Surrender & Drop. Dropping our expectations… giving the mind permission to release its clasp on expected outcomes and desires.⁠

Saying this is much easier than in practice, but the lesson of Grounding, Surrender & Dropping are really the tools which can help you navigate through the journey with just that little bit more Ease.⁠

Fasting is more than just a reset for the body—it’s a deep journey into self-awareness, empowerment, and transformation.

According to Ayurveda, as we shift from winter to spring, this is the ideal time to cleanse, reset, and align with the rhythms of nature. And there is nothing that has shifted me more—physically, mentally, and emotionally—than fasting.

💡 You are not your cravings.
💡 You are not your habits.
💡 You are not your body. You are beyond all of that.

This April, I’m bringing in my dear friend Iris Scherer, a certified fasting guide trained at the Centre for Naturopathy in Munich, to guide you hand-in-hand through a 5-day water fast. Together, we will create a powerful container of support and guidance to help you step into this experience with confidence.

In Sri Lanka, you’ll often see pretty stone bowls at the entrances of homes, filled with water and delicate white Wathusudda flowers floating on top 🌼

I love this simple gesture—it’s one of offering good fortune to the space it is placed into, to those who live within it, and to everyone who enters 🙌

But what truly matters is the mindset behind it. These bowls are prepared with intention—fresh water, fresh flowers, and quiet good wishes for the day ahead. Without that intention, the gesture loses its power❤️

It’s something we can carry into our own daily lives. Any small act—towards yourself or others—done mindfully, with genuine good wishes, holds meaning. It creates a ripple, not just for the person receiving it, but for you too.

Try it. The next time you do something simple, like making a cup of tea, pause and hold that person in your thoughts. Send a little warmth their way. If you’re doing it anyway, why not infuse it with intention?

It may seem small—but small things carry quiet power. The way a gesture is given can bring just a little more love into the world.

This was captured just before a yoga class at Beyond the philosophy, I’m drawn to the ritual itself—the mindfulness, the presence, the beauty of beginning the day this way🌱

Feeling the magic of Sri Lanka ✨—the place where it all began for me.

I’ve always dreamed of bringing a retreat here, immersing in the wisdom of Ayurveda in a land where this knowledge is so deeply woven into daily life. And… I think I’ve found the perfect location 😉

I’m not just on holiday—I’m retreat hunting (a tough job but someones got to do it!) . Putting the finishing touches on a 2027 experience where we’ll team up with local Ayurvedic doctors, daily movement sessions, massage, FOOD, and truly immerse ourselves in the land, the culture, and the rhythm of life here.

This is going to be a very special, small retreat—crafted to connect, restore, and inspire in a place I called home for many years. 💛

I believe one of the most transformative benefits a regular yoga practise brings is ‘Space’… Space within the muscles and joints of our physical body, Space within the breath through the expansion of our lungs and of course Space in our minds through quieting our thoughts and becoming more present. ⁠

During class I often instruct students to ‘create more space’ – between the shoulders and ears, between the collar bones, in the chest when we breath, all helpful cues for finding expansion within our physical practise - But how might this concept of creating space play into our lives off the mat?⁠

Perhaps the most subtle way yoga helps create space is within our thinking. Taking the time to focus and breathe deeply helps us return to clarity and calmness. Looking at challenging situations through this lens helps us easily identify actions and priorities which then lead to better, more efficient use of time… (creating space)⁠

Of course, some of us have more time to practise yoga than others – but even if you can work 10 mindful breaths into each day you will be surprised at how much space those 10 breaths help create. With regular practise we find this space more easily … at this point the world just becomes a little simpler …⁠

Finding Balance….⁠

“Just because something is good for you, doesn’t mean more of it is better for you”⁠
And there it was, my lightbulb moment, the hook which got me tapping back into my intuition.⁠

Before entering the world of Ayurveda I spent many years darting from one ‘super food’ diet to another – regardless of the season, regardless of my state of health at the time. If the magazine says it’s good for me then I will preserve not matter how negatively my body responded.⁠
“Celery juice is great for your skin” … then I will drink nothing but celery juice from now on.⁠

But what if that morning smoothie you consume, with its myriad of fruits, vegetables, nuts, protein powders, supplements, milks ect ect is overwhelming your already weakened digestive system? … what if this overpowering influx of fruit and veg is the cause of your skin inflammation? (speaking from personal experience here!)⁠

Through Ayurveda we learn that the key to health (and many of life’s challenges) is finding BALANCE: Reclaiming and retaining it. ⁠
Your CURRENT state of balance is ever changing and so the running internal question should always be “how do I feel right now?”⁠
What your body needs today might not be what your body needed last week and not what someone else needs. Decisions regarding your health should be based on how YOU feel this very instant. Tap back into that intuition and find your baseline.⁠
