Public Heath Training The Nutrition and Health Center Training & Research (NHCTR) is dedicated to improving community health through education, research, and outreach.

Our volunteer program plays a vital role in achieving our mission by engaging passionate individuals who are eager to make a difference in the field of nutrition and public health. Purpose of the Volunteer Program:
The NHCTR Volunteer Program aims to provide students and community members with opportunities to gain hands on experience, develop skills, and contribute to meaningful projects that promote health and wellness. Volunteers will work alongside professionals in various fields, including nutrition, public health, and community development.

We are thrilled to announce the launch of our training course:

"Understanding Health Systems: From Foundation to Resilience"
📍 Hosted by: Nutrition Health Center for Training and Research , Ahfad University for Women

Meet Our Director:

Dr. Osama Awad Salih 🌟
BSc, MSc, PhD | Professor of Human Nutrition | Leader in Public Health & Research

With over 25 years of expertise in nutrition, research, and policy development, Dr. Osama Awad Salih is a cornerstone of Sudan’s health advancement. Currently a Professor at Ahfad University for Women (AUW), he previously held key roles at King Saud University (KSA), shaping national nutrition policies and mentoring future leaders.

🔬 Research & Impact :
- Published 25+ scientific articles and authored/translated 5 books .
- Secured major grants (e.g., UNICEF, KACST) for projects on breastfeeding, diabetes, and rural women’s nutrition.
- Developed Sudan’s National Nutrition Policy and technical strategies.

🎓 Mentorship & Academia :
- Supervised 20+ MSc students and co-founded AUW’s postgraduate programs.
- Coordinator of the Yale-Sudan Research Mentorship Program (2020-2023).
- External examiner for PhD/MSc theses across universities.

Dr. Salih’s work embodies NHCTR’s mission:
bridging science and community health for a stronger Sudan.
