Theme class 22/10 - Backbends
This workshop is for every yoga student that has a sincere interest in improving their backbending skills.
On Tuesday night we will take a look at the backbends in the Primary and Intermediate series of Ashtanga yoga, starting with Urdhva Mukha Svanasana (Upward-facing dog).
Creating awareness around the breath, and the technique that is needed to do these Asanas safely and effectively.
Focusing on how to properly engage the Core and strengthening the Back chain (Posterior Chain) of the body.
E.g. correct activation of the Transverse abdominal muscle, awakening the Obturator internus muscle etc.
Since many of the asanas that we will explore, are common in many yoga methods, not only in the Ashtanga yoga system.
This workshop is for everyone that is interested in improving their breath, technique and strength in backbends.
