Vaccines adults often forget about 💉

Vaccines aren’t just for kids! Many adults overlook important immunisations that protect against serious illnesses. Some commonly missed vaccines include:
• Tdap – Tetanus, diphtheria, and whooping cough booster
• Influenza – Yearly flu shot
• MMR – Measles, mumps, rubella
• Shingles – Especially for those over 60
• Hepatitis B – Important for certain risk groups

Good news: Some adult vaccines are covered under the Adult Immunisation Programme, and for seniors, many vaccines can be paid with Medisave.

Stay protected and keep your health on track! 🛡️

Cough lasting more than 3 weeks? It’s time to take notice! 🤒

A persistent cough isn’t always “just a cough.”
While it could be caused by common issues like allergies, asthma, or lingering infections, it could also signal something more serious, such as tuberculosis or other lung conditions.
Ignoring a cough that lasts more than 3 weeks can delay treatment and affect your health.

Early assessment by a GP can help identify the cause and get you the right care quickly.

Book an appointment with us today and let our experienced team help you breathe easier.

Diarrhoea is uncomfortable and can lead to dehydration if not managed properly.

Here are two essential steps to take:
1️⃣ Stay Hydrated
Drink plenty of water, oral rehydration solutions, or clear broths. Avoid sugary drinks or caffeinated beverages, as they can worsen dehydration.

2️⃣ Rest Your Digestive System
Eat light, bland foods like rice, toast, or bananas. Avoid spicy, fatty, or dairy-heavy meals until symptoms improve.

When to see a GP:
Diarrhoea lasts more than 2–3 days
Severe abdominal pain, fever, or blood in stool
Signs of dehydration: dizziness, very little urine, dry mouth

💡 At PanCare Medical, we can help identify the cause and recommend the right treatment for quick recovery.

Flu season is here. Is it the flu, COVID-19, or just a common cold? 🤧

These illnesses can feel similar, but they’re caused by different viruses and may need different care.

🤧 Common Cold
Usually mild and develops gradually.
Symptoms often include a runny or blocked nose, sneezing, mild sore throat, and occasional cough. Fever is uncommon and symptoms usually improve within a few days.

🤒 Flu (Influenza)
Symptoms tend to come on suddenly and feel more severe.
High fever, body aches, fatigue, headache, sore throat, and cough are common. Flu can lead to complications, especially in the elderly, young children, or those with chronic conditions.

😷 COVID-19
Symptoms vary widely and can range from mild to severe.
Fever, cough, sore throat, fatigue, loss of taste or smell, and breathing difficulties may occur. Testing is important to confirm the diagnosis and reduce spread.

When to see a GP:
• Symptoms are severe or worsening
• Fever lasts more than a few days
• Shortness of breath, chest pain, or extreme fatigue
• You belong to a higher-risk group

💉 Vaccination and early medical advice help reduce complications and protect those around you.
📍 Visit any PanCare Medical clinic for assessment, testing, and personalised care.

Natural doesn’t always mean safe.

Many of us turn to herbal remedies, supplements, or traditional treatments thinking they’re completely harmless, but “natural” doesn’t guarantee safety. Some remedies can interact with prescription medications, worsen existing health conditions, or cause unexpected side effects.

It’s important to remember to:
• Check with your doctor before starting any new supplement or herbal treatment.
• Stick to recommended doses and follow product instructions carefully.
• Look for evidence-based benefits rather than trusting popular trends or word-of-mouth.
• Monitor your health and report any unusual symptoms promptly.

At PanCare Medical, we support safe, informed choices for your health. Natural remedies can be helpful, but combining them with professional guidance ensures the best outcomes so you can care for your body safely and effectively.

📍 Visit any PanCare Medical clinic to discuss natural remedies and how they fit into your overall health plan.

• Chronic condition follow-ups
• Memory or cognitive changes

🚨 Seek urgent care if they experience chest pain, trouble breathing, sudden weakness, or high fever.

When should you see a GP vs go to A&E?

Knowing where to go for care can save time, reduce stress, and ensure you get the right treatment.

✅ See a GP at PanCare Medical for non-urgent health issues such as fever, cough, flu, sore throat, stomach upset, minor cuts or rashes, chronic condition follow-ups, vaccinations, and routine health screenings. Our doctors can assess your condition, provide treatment, and refer you to a hospital if needed.

⚠️ Go to A&E immediately if you experience chest pain, difficulty breathing, severe abdominal pain, sudden weakness or numbness, slurred speech, heavy bleeding, high fever with confusion, or serious accidents or trauma. These require urgent medical attention.

When in doubt, starting with a PanCare Medical GP is safe. We can evaluate your situation and guide you on the next steps. Your health is our priority.

📍 Visit any of our PanCare Medical clinics for assessment, advice, and care you can trust.
