🍡 Dongzhi at Orange Valley Marsiling

Seniors at Orange Valley Marsiling marked the Dongzhi Festival by making traditional tang yuan.

As they shaped the rice balls, the activity brought back memories of how Dongzhi was celebrated in earlier years. The tang yuan were later cooked and served in warm soup, allowing the seniors to enjoy the fruit of their labour.

🎄🧇 Waffles and Christmas Cheer at Orange Valley (Marsiling) 🧇🎄

The Christmas season was made extra special at Orange Valley (Marsiling) as volunteers came by to treat our residents to a waffle spread. Fresh waffles were made on the spot, and our seniors could choose from a range of fillings including kaya, peanut butter and blueberry.

It was a relaxed session with plenty of smiles and full bellies. Thank you to the volunteers for coming by and making the day special for our residents.

🎄✨ Christmas Cheer at Orange Valley Nursing Home (Clementi) ✨🎄

We were delighted to welcome the volunteers from the Maria Crostarosa Choir of Novena Church to Orange Valley Nursing Home (Clementi). Their heartfelt Christmas caroling filled our home with joy as our seniors enjoyed a festive medley of classics like Jingle Bells, Silver Bells and Feliz Navidad. 🎶❤️

The celebration ended on a sweet note with our seniors receiving a special Christmas goodie bag, bringing smiles all around. 🎁😊

A big thank you to Rev Claveria and the choir for spreading warmth, music and the true spirit of Christmas with our seniors. 🌟🎄

🎄💛 A Little Christmas Cheer at Alkaff Crescent AAC 💛🎄

We had a lovely time welcoming students from Hwa Chong Institution to Alkaff Crescent Active Ageing Centre as we prepared for the upcoming Christmas festivities together.

Our seniors spent the afternoon colouring baubles and helping to decorate the Christmas tree. It was a calm, pleasant time shared together, and the tree now feels extra special because of it.

Thank you to the Hwa Chong students for coming by and spending time with our seniors. Your presence made a difference. ✨

Our seniors from Orange Valley AAC @ Woodlands Peak recently participated in the SCDF Responders Plus Programme (RPP).

During the session, our seniors were equipped with essential lifesaving skills, including First Aid, CPR-AED and basic firefighting, supported by hands-on practice with fire extinguishers. They also learned techniques to assist someone who is choking and participated actively throughout the programme, concluding the workshop with the issuance of their e-certificates of completion.

A sincere thank you to Singapore Civil Defence Force 4th Division HQ team for conducting this session, which empowers our seniors with vital skills and renewed confidence.

Getting Into the Christmas Spirit at ION Orchard 🎄✨

Our residents enjoyed a festive morning out at ION Orchard, where the Christmas lights and decorations were already in full swing. They had a great time taking photos with the towering Christmas tree and admiring the beautifully decorated spaces around the mall. The stroll along Orchard Road was especially meaningful, with sparkling displays, cheerful music and the whole stretch dressed up for the holidays. It really helped everyone get into the Christmas mood.

To end the outing, the group settled down for a comforting breakfast of half-boiled eggs, kaya toast and their favourite drinks☕🍞. Over the meal, they shared stories and reminiscing memories that made the outing extra special.

Everyone returned with full bellies, warm hearts and lovely memories made with their friends. A simple but heartwarming way to bring the festive spirit to our seniors this season. ❤️

🌼 Grandparents’ Day Celebration at Orange Valley Clementi 🌼

In commemoration of Grandparents’ Day, Orange Valley Clementi organised a meaningful and engaging programme for our residents. The celebration began with an arts and crafts activity, where residents designed and painted their own paper cup planters, a creative session that encouraged self-expression and supported cognitive and motor engagement. 🎨🪴

Our rehab team even prepared a dedicated picnic setup, thoughtfully arranged to replicate an authentic picnic atmosphere. With picnic mats, themed décor and a cosy layout, the space was designed to help residents feel as though they were enjoying a relaxing day outdoors.

Residents were then treated to a selection of light refreshments, including rainbow cake, mini buns and ice cream, adding a sweet and enjoyable touch to the afternoon. 🍰🥐🍦

The event offered a warm environment for social interaction, bonding and memorable photo moments, all in celebration of the important role grandparents play in our lives. 📸
