Powerlifting didn’t teach me this… bodybuilding did.

Stepping on stage humbled me and taught me lessons I’ll carry for life:
- How to push accessories harder and actually chase the pump.
- Structure > freedom when it comes to food.
- Overestimating macros when eating out keeps me sane.
- Not every meal needs protein.
- Bodybuilding is patience, powerlifting is frequency.
- Most of all—stay present, have fun, and fall back in love with training.

I’m not done with powerlifting, but for now I’m enjoying the process and building towards my next bodybuilding show in 2027.

👉 DM me for coaching—whether it’s powerlifting, bodybuilding, or something in between.

2025 IPF World Championships Athlete Analysis: Alexander Ang’s Deadlift

In just two years, Alex’s deadlift has gone from inconsistent to world-record threatening. After a clean 360kg second attempt, we took a bold crack at 374kg—only narrowly missing due to a slight up/down at the knees.

What changed? Strategic nutrition, smarter training splits, and refining recovery so he could actually express the strength he had. It’s no longer a question of if—just when. And when it does land, we’re moving up to the 105s 👀

2025 IPF World Championships Athlete Analysis: Alexander Ang’s Benchpress

Despite missing his 3rd attempt, Alex has added +10kg in comp and +15kg in training to his bench over the last 2 years—a major feat for someone historically not built for it.

What changed? Better nutrition, smarter block planning, and staying injury-free long enough to string together 4 full pressing blocks. We’ve found the formula—now it’s time to milk it.

Big shoutout to Stefan for his incredible transformation over the past 6 months! From 115kg in June to 94kg in December, he’s worked tirelessly to improve both his health and powerlifting performance. While losing over 20kg, a slight dip in strength was expected, but his dedication is setting the stage for long-term gains. The journey is just beginning, and I couldn’t be prouder of his hard work. Onward and upward, Stefan! Into the 93s.

Success in powerlifting is not solely determined by being 100% perfect some of the time (or during preps only). It’s about being 70% good 100% of the time. Consistency in training and dedication to your goals, even when faced with challenges, will ultimately lead to progress and success. Stay committed, stay focused, and remember that steady progress is better than sporadic perfection.

Burnout is a common experience in all aspects of life. Don’t focus so much on your end goals and learn to enjoy your training, the process of getting better. It is a privilege to train each day you walk in the gym.
