Glaucoma is a group of related eye disorders, characterized by loss of vision secondary to progressive damage to the optic nerve of the eye.

Glaucoma is one of the leading causes of blindness, and the ๐™ซ๐™ž๐™จ๐™ช๐™–๐™ก ๐™ก๐™ค๐™จ๐™จ ๐™ž๐™จ ๐™ž๐™ง๐™ง๐™š๐™ซ๐™š๐™ง๐™จ๐™ž๐™—๐™ก๐™š .
In many cases, glaucoma may be asymptomatic in the early stages.

Hence, early detection and treatment of glaucoma is the key to preventing further visual loss.

Every one in 200 people aged 40 have glaucoma, which rises to one in 8 people aged 80.

If you are above 40, it is important to undergo regular eye examination, to screen for eye diseases such as glaucoma.

Celebrated Friday (& my second month in private practice) with:
A very nice patient.
A very nice anesthetist/friend, Dr Thong, who doubled up as my DJ & played music in OT for me.
A very nice team of nurses & B&L rep.
And wearing my favorite OT cap of all time - a corgi wearing a surgical mask & donning a surgical gown. ๐Ÿ™‚

My favorite tool. ๐Ÿ™‚
As an ophthalmologist and an oculoplastic surgeon, we are blessed to have access to many tools & equipment.
Very happy to have my new toy, the Alpha 6400 E-mount camera with APS-C sensor from . It is a full-frame interchangeable lens camera that gives me versatility, yet compact and lightweight enough for my daily use at work (a very important factor).
In fact, itโ€™s an essential in my line of work, as it is imperative to take pre-operative & post-operative photos of my patients, for documentation & comparison. ๐Ÿ™‚
Loving the personalized leather camera strap from too! ๐Ÿ™‚
Photo taken with my Alpha 7R IV, which Iโ€™m also having a lot of fun with, but a tad too heavy to bring to work.
A good camera is a good investment, and a lot of thought was put into it before I decided on my buy.
Iโ€™m definitely looking forward to using it more often at work! ๐Ÿ™‚
