The festive season isn’t joyful for everyone — and that’s okay. 🌙

While celebrations are often associated with connection and happiness, many people quietly experience loneliness during this time. Distance, strained relationships, and societal expectations to ‘feel festive’ can make these feelings even heavier.

Loneliness doesn’t mean failure or weakness. It is a normal human response and a crucial signal prompting you to practise self-care. You’re allowed to celebrate differently — or not at all. Be gentle with yourself this season. 🤍

As the year comes to an end, many of us naturally start looking back on our progress. While reflecting, a quiet fear about getting older hits some of us.

Whether it’s feeling behind on life milestones, worrying about finances, noticing changes in our appearance, or becoming more concerned about our health, these thoughts are real and valid. Many people share these year-end anxieties.

But these fears don’t have to define how we see ageing! Recognising why these feelings arise is the first step towards approaching ageing with clarity and hope. 🌱

2025 is coming to an end, and the season of reflections and making new year’s resolutions is here. Well… I don’t know about you, but I didn’t hit my goal this year.

My goal was simple: to stop procrastinating and complete my tasks according to the schedule I created for myself. Yet, I fell back into the pattern of blaming myself excessively when I did not achieve my goal.

I learnt from my therapist that self-blame isn’t clarity; it could be a survival habit or a coping mechanism for a lack of control in childhood. Meeting myself with compassion is still growth—sometimes, it’s the most important kind, one we often forget.✨

I didn’t achieve everything I planned, but I learnt something invaluable about myself. That’s also an achievement and I am still learning to be kind to myself. 💌

Not all personal goals support our wellbeing in the same way. Intrinsic goals are driven by personal growth, meaning, and internal motivation. They tend to bring deeper satisfaction. Extrinsic goals, shaped by external rewards or pressures, may not positively affect our wellbeing very much.

Your wellbeing grows when your goals come from within.✨🌱

Your thoughts can feel loud, but that doesn’t make them true. Learning to notice, challenge, and reframe negative thoughts can change the way you feel and view yourself and the world around you. You are more than your negative thoughts, and you don’t have to believe everything your mind says.

For those dealing with trauma, some may experience flashbacks. A sudden sound, a jolt, or even a smell can trigger a person’s traumatic memories to surface. This experience can be overwhelming and disorienting.

Healing from trauma doesn’t happen overnight. Each small step—each time you get through a flashback, ground yourself, challenge unhelpful thoughts, or reach out for support—is a step towards healing and recovery.
