On 6th November 2025, Dr. Benjamin Chua, Medical Director and Senior Consultant Vascular Surgeon at the Vascular & Interventional Centre (VIC) in Singapore, successfully completed a treatment using the Shape Memory Medical Inc. Polymer plug, a promising innovation in vascular care.

This advanced plug reduces the need for permanent embolic material, supports vessel healing, and is naturally replaced by the body’s own tissue. It’s a significant step forward in managing Pelvic Congestion Syndrome (PCS), a condition known for causing persistent pain. Learn more about how this technology is transforming patient outcomes.

We are proud to recognise Dr Stuart Collins and the team at Ramsay Health Care, Noosa Private Hospital for completing 50 NanoKnife Focal IRE (Irreversible Electroporation) prostate cases since introducing the technology in August 2024.

Focal IRE is an advanced, minimally invasive therapy that uses targeted, controlled electrical pulses to ablate prostate tissue while aiming to preserve surrounding structures.

This milestone reflects not only Dr Collins’ clinical expertise, guided early on by A/Prof John Yaxley, but also the dedication of the multidisciplinary team in expanding access to innovative treatment options.

A significant milestone at Sunway Medical Centre, The NanoKnife System is now available!
