Care & Compassion are the common denominators for our second NDP 2024 Show Film - a short documentary featuring 4 profiles and their stories.

Directed by Karmour Koo Chia Meng, the moving and compelling stories show how thoughts can inspire actions, and how actions can eventually become something powerful and transformative.

The film is preceded by a exquisite cello solo, leading into a warm and beautiful music arrangement of familiar songs by NDP24 Music Director Bang Wenfu

At the end of this film, a surprise appearance on the live show creates a full circle moment for the emotional narrative.

Directed by Karmour Koo Chia Meng, the first NDP 2024 Show Film is an ode to the nostalgic 1960s of Singapore.

This film features the 4 amazing NDP24 hosts Joakim Gomez Sonia Chew Ebi Shankara & Siti K, taking us into the warmth of family dinners in the 60s, faithfully recreated through meticulous production design, and set against sounds and music designed by Bang Wenfu.

The various dishes that were presented in the film went through a rigorous process of research, and were freshly prepared on set by culinary experts from the respective cuisines. The cast could not stop eating on set, and the crew fervently hoped that the scenes would be completed quickly so they had a chance to try the food! Enjoy!

The Dynamic Defence Display (D3) segment for NDP 2024 commemorates Total Defence 40 this year, and marks the first time that D3 is being presented at The Padang.

Karmour Koo Chia Meng served as Creative Director for D3 segment, working alongside the fantastic folks from onedash22, production company behind the full suite of D3 content for this year’s display. We first worked with OneDash22 for NDP 2017. Over the years, OneDash22 continues to impress with a high level of quality and finesse in their work.

Take a sneak peak at what they have been working on for NDP 2024 D3, spanning from narrative context films to highly detailed motion graphics and visual effects: Underwater demolition, urban rescue, drone chase, bus hijack, just to name a few. All these content, integrated with an impressive lineup of civil/military assets, will be shown live on 9-August 2024 during NDP itself.

Many thanks also to our outstanding colleagues from the NDP24 D3 and Multimedia Committee, for playing a vital part in putting this year’s D3 together!

“Regardless of who we are and which era we live in, I believe the way we interact as family, friends and Singaporeans remains unchanging. That’s simply the nature of us and how we relate to one another.”

Karmour Koo Chia Meng's hypothesis propels the casting process for the music video of ‘Not Alone’.

Together with Casting Director Maximilian Liang, we looked for possible combinations of real-life family and friends who are potentially suitable for the live-action vignettes.

With a thematic focus on People, we hope to bring lived experiences to the music video through performance, inviting our audience to recall our everyday ups and downs that grounds us as Singaporeans.

Presenting storyboards from the official NDP 2024 Theme Song Music Video.

These selections are part of a full suite of storyboards created by , and had greatly aided creative dialogue between our Directors Brian Gothong Tan Karmour Koo Chia Meng Davier Yoon and our Cinematographer Kevin Yeoh during the early stages of development.

The storyboards enabled the team to pre-visualize the work and bring together various elements such as live-action production, period design, virtual production, visual effects, drone shoots and most importantly, the overarching narrative!

A week ago, we released the official NDP 2024 Theme Song Music Video for "Not Alone", performed by Benjamin Kheng and co-directed by Koo Chia Meng, Brian Gothong Tan and Davier Yoon.

There are many people to thank and we will do so in due time, as we share more about this music video in the coming weeks, leading up to NDP 2024!
