Meet Natasha, a cheerful Deputy Project Director with Project RICE+ and Red Cross Youth. Her journey began unexpectedly when a friend encouraged her to give volunteering a try, and what started as curiosity soon became a meaningful way for her to spread kindness.

In her role, Natasha brings people together by guiding her peers, creating a welcoming space for new volunteers, and fostering a spirit of compassion in every project. Her cheerful presence and thoughtful leadership encourage others to look beyond themselves and care for those around them.

Natasha finds joy in the little moments: a smile from someone receiving a care package, the shared laughter during team briefings, and the quiet satisfaction of knowing that a simple act can brighten someoneโ€™s day. These moments of connection fuel her passion and remind her why kindness matters.

Meet Hakim, an inspiring Volunteer Leader with the Singapore Red Crossโ€™ Community First Aid (CFA) programme. His journey began in 2018 with a simple, heartfelt intention to use his first aid skills to help someone in need. That small step grew into a meaningful path shaped by compassion.

Along the way, Hakim discovered that kindness goes beyond tending to injuries. A memorable moment supporting a senior in emotional distress opened his eyes to the power of empathy, inspiring him to pursue Psychological First Aid and deepen his ability to care for others with understanding and warmth.

Being a Volunteer Leader, Hakim honed not only his leadership skills but also the human touch that helps others feel seen and supported. Today, he leads with calm assurance and a kind heart, reminding those around him that compassion, even in simple moments, can make a lasting difference.

Meet Rupal, a passionate Volunteer Leader with the Singapore Red Crossโ€™ Red Cross Home for the Disabled (RCHD). With over 10 years of experience working with people with special needs and animals, Rupal joined the Red Cross to continue her passion for helping the vulnerable, using her time and skills to make a meaningful difference.

At RCHD, Rupal plays a vital role in guiding new volunteers through induction sessions and supporting Animal-Assisted Activities that help improve clientsโ€™ motor skills and emotional well-being. She also organises birthday celebrations and special events, creating moments of joy and connection for the clients.

Rupal believes that those in care are deserving of love as anyone else. The smiles, gratitude, and interactions she receives in return are the greatest rewardsโ€”and continue to inspire both her and the volunteers she leads to serve with compassion and purpose.

We marked a significant milestone with the launch of 60 Lights, One Future, a heartfelt celebration of hope, unity, and community spirit. This initiative will go on to support the Young Hearts programme, helping children and youths from challenging backgrounds receive the guidance, stability, and care they need to grow and thrive.

We were honoured to welcome our Guest of Honour, Ms Goh Hanyan ๅดๅ‡ฝ็‡•, Senior Parliamentary Secretary for the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth and the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment, who joined us in commemorating this meaningful occasion.

A special thank you to Eunice Yeo, founder of .of.art.sg for their partnership and unwavering support in bringing this vision to life.

And to every Light who contributed, thank you. The evening reminded us of the beauty that emerges when people unite in the spirit of giving, a light that will guide us long after the event, and a light that we will carry forward. โœจ
