The GPFirst Programme encourages people with mild-to-moderate medical conditions to seek care with their General Practitioners (GPs) first, rather than visiting the hospital's Emergency Department (ED) at the first instance. Going to the GP allows patients to receive timely medical treatment within the community at greater convenience. Residents who visit a GPFirst participating clinic will receive a $50 subsidy on the prevailing attendance fee if they are subsequently referred for emergency/urgent care services at the ED, and will be seen in priority over non-urgent cases. The programme is available for Singaporeans, Permanent Residents and foreigners. The GPFirst programme is adopted at the A&E departments of the following institutions:
1. Changi General Hospital (CGH)
2. Sengkang General Hospital (SKH)
3. Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH)
4. Urgent Care Centre (UCC) @ Admiralty
5. National University Hospital (NUH)
6. Ng Teng Fong General Hospital (NTFGH)
