Timely detection is key to patient safety — and the Vital Scout team is transforming this with wearable devices that continuously monitor vital signs like heart rate, oxygen, and temperature. By automating data capture, they’ve reduced human error and enabled earlier intervention when patients deteriorate. Nurses save over half the time spent on manual checks, allowing more focus on patient care, while patients enjoy fewer disturbances and smoother recoveries. The system also lets some patients be safely monitored in general wards, easing demand for high-dependency beds. Through collaboration across medicine, nursing, IT, and engineering, the team has created smarter, safer, and more sustainable hospital care.
