JurongHealth Campus

JurongHealth Campus Known as the JurongHealth Campus, the NTFGH and JCH are members of the NUHS.

The Ng Teng Fong General Hospital (NTFGH) and Jurong Community Hospital (JCH) are members of the National University Health System (NUHS), a leading academic health system and one of three public healthcare clusters in Singapore. Known as the JurongHealth Campus, NTFGH and JCH are Singapore’s first integrated healthcare development designed and built together from the ground up. Designed around the patients’ needs, the twin development enables NTFGH patients who no longer require acute care to be easily transferred to rehabilitate and recuperate in JCH. Both hospitals are also managed by one healthcare team to facilitate integration at all levels to enable better patient care, greater efficiency and convenience. NTFGH is also the first in Singapore and ASEAN to attain HIMSS EMRAM Stage 7, with JCH at HIMSS EMRAM Stage 6 – an achievement which recognises hospitals with the highest level of adoption and utilisation of electronic medical record functions. As part of an integrated academic health system, NTFGH and JCH, in collaboration with partners in the healthcare continuum, aims to transform healthcare to deliver holistic and seamless patient-centred care. Dr Gary Lee, Senior Assistant Director, Office of CEO, and Senior Principal Audiologist at NTFGH, plays a dual role at JurongHealth Campus — driving community health efforts while continuing to care for patients with hearing loss and tinnitus.

To Dr Gary, even the smallest moments can create lasting impact - https://for.sg/faces-of-jhc-dr-gary-lee

He recalls a patient who had withdrawn from the world — until a hearing aid reconnected him with the voices of his family.

“Suddenly his eyes opened… he felt surrounded by people who loved and cared for him,” Dr Gary shares. Moments like these remind him of the privilege and purpose of serving in healthcare.

Dr Gary is one of our CEO & CMB Award recipients at this year’s inaugural Patient Experience Awards, which celebrate staff who have transformed their patients’ journeys into positive and meaningful experiences. Thank you for seeing, hearing, and uplifting those in your care, Dr Gary!

What lies behind the clutter? At the 13th JurongHealth Campus Social Work Grand Rounds last month, we explored the theme “Too Much to Let Go” — delving into the complex stories behind hoarding.

Participants heard from speakers who shared how possessions can hold deep emotional meaning — as memories, identities, and even protection against loss.

The session shed light on the anxiety, shame, and isolation that often accompany hoarding, and the importance of empathy and tailored support in each individual’s recovery journey.

Stay tuned to this space as we share a personal story from a patient and insights from our Medical Social Services team on understanding and supporting those who struggle to let go.

Our team from the Bukit Batok East Community Health Resource Centre @ Nature View, together with students from Singapore University of Social Sciences, joined the Bukit Batok Arts & Health Day event yesterday to share health and wellness tips.

At the event, participants also pledged to go for a diabetes screening — taking a step toward a healthier tomorrow for themselves and their loved ones. Check out the event highlights - https://for.sg/chrc-bb-event-highlights-2025

Supported by JurongHealth Fund, the centre provides health and wellness education, resources, and support for the community. It also offers complimentary diabetes screening to identify those who may be at higher risk. Early detection can help prevent further progression or complications later in life.

Timely detection is key to patient safety — and the Vital Scout team is transforming this with wearable devices that continuously monitor vital signs like heart rate, oxygen, and temperature. By automating data capture, they’ve reduced human error and enabled earlier intervention when patients deteriorate. Nurses save over half the time spent on manual checks, allowing more focus on patient care, while patients enjoy fewer disturbances and smoother recoveries. The system also lets some patients be safely monitored in general wards, easing demand for high-dependency beds. Through collaboration across medicine, nursing, IT, and engineering, the team has created smarter, safer, and more sustainable hospital care. Earlier this morning, our physiotherapists joined the 𝘓𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘌𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘦 – 𝘓𝘦𝘵’𝘴 𝘗𝘭𝘢𝘺 & 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘤𝘵 community event, graced by Mr Lee Hong Chuang 李宏壮, BBM, Member of Parliament for Jurong East–Bukit Batok GRC.

Besides leading residents in an energetic warm-up, our physiotherapists also engaged them in a simple test to assess fall risk and shared practical tips on staying active and healthy. Find out more about the Short Physical Performance Battery, a simple and reliable test that measures physical function - https://for.sg/sppb-fb-link

Our participation in this community outreach effort is part of our ongoing collaboration with Jurong-Clementi-Bukit Batok Town Council to support healthier and more active communities.

Together, we will build a healthier, more active, and connected community!

The Short Physical Performance Battery (SPPB) measures physical function through three simple movements: chair stands, standing balance and walking. The results can reveal risk of falls, help guide care and prevent frailty in older adults.

JCH’s Senior Physiotherapist Rachel Huang demonstrates how the test is done and what the scores indicate. Find out more in the SPPB score sheet - https://for.sg/ntfgh-sppb-score-sheet

Laughter and excitement filled our wards in JCH last Saturday, when volunteers from IRAS came by bearing games and gifts to bring cheer to patients.

The volunteers played Bingo and a fishing game to warm up the atmosphere before engaging in heartfelt conversations, offering patients a listening ear and uplifting them on their road to recovery. It was their first time volunteering in a hospital — and a truly memorable one.

“𝘐𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘑𝘊𝘏 𝘸𝘦𝘭𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘴 𝘷𝘰𝘭𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘨𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘱𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴. 𝘌𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘴𝘰 𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘮 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘯; 𝘪𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘢 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘭𝘺 𝘮𝘦𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘧𝘶𝘭 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘶𝘴,” shared Rebecca Liang, one of the volunteers.

A heartfelt thanks to the IRAS volunteers for bringing joy and encouragement to our patients!

We offer many volunteer opportunities for organisations and individuals. Find out more and join us in spreading joy through giving back - https://www.ntfgh.com.sg/giving-back/friends-of-juronghealth-campus
