THE BEAUTY OF CYCLE CHARTING🚦
I’ve been cycle charting for the past 3 of my irregular cycles. Am just so Ah-MAZED 🌟with the body’s unique patterns!
Repost👇🏻 from .nutrition if you would like to give charting a try. Or perhaps you need help reading your chart? 😍
If you're focused on trying to get pregnant, the first place to start should be charting your cycle. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The old counting method does not work for every person and every cycle. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you are ready to get down and dirty with your fertility, it's time to start charting. Here are some of the basics ::⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1. basal body temp (BBT) - your temperature taken immediately when you wake up before you do anything else. The moment you get moving, your temperature changes. All you need is a basic thermometer + a chart (paper or app). Your BBT is lower in the first half of your cycle and higher in the second half of your cycle IF you ovulated! BBT CONFIRMS OVULATION OCCURRED!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2. cervical mucus (CM) - checking this daily helps you determine when you are FERTILE. General rule of thumb - if you see CM, you are fertile. CM is produced due to hormone changes leading up to ovulation and allows for s***m to stay alive for up to 5 days to increase your chances of conceiving. If your noticing no CM or many clusters or CM throughout your cycle is a sign that your cycle needs some support.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3. cervical position (CP) - checking your cervical position can tell you if your cervix is in a fertile position or non fertile position. Not the most famous of markers, but super informative especially if your CM patterns are off. Using your finger, determine if your cervix is:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
High, soft (like your lips), open - fertile⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
low, hard (like your nose), closed - non-fertile⠀
