🐾 Now Open for Adoption: Two Sweet Maltipoo Boys (7 Months Old) 🐾

We’re happy to share that our two Maltipoo boys, both 7 months old, are now ready to look for their forever homes 💛

These two youngsters have come a long way under our care and are at a lovely age — past the very young puppy stage, yet still playful, curious and full of affection. They are gentle, observant and eager to bond, and with patience and consistency, they will make wonderful family companions.

✨ About the boys
• 7 months old
• Sweet, gentle temperaments
• Playful but not overly hyper
• Learning routines and basic manners
• Suitable for families committed to continued training and bonding

As they have grown up together, we hope to rehome them to the same family, where they can continue to support and comfort each other as they settle into a new environment 🐾💕

As with all young dogs, they will thrive in homes that can offer time, structure, guidance and love. We are looking for adopters who understand that adoption is a lifelong commitment and are prepared to grow together with them.

If you feel your family could open your hearts and home to both boys, please write to us via FB messager.

There is no adoption fee but adoptor is required to send both dogs for sterlisation.

Let’s help these two beautiful souls find their forever home — together 🏡🐶🐶💛

✨ A New Chapter for Tang Tang ✨

For six years, Tang Tang lived life as an ex-breeding mummy. Quiet, unsure, and carrying a heart that had known more responsibility than comfort.

Then one day, she went home — truly home — with Justina and family, and a very important someone waiting for her… Dou Dou 🐾

On the journey back, Tang Tang rested her tired little head gently on Dou Dou. No words, just trust. A soft moment that felt like the start of something beautiful.

When they reached home, Dou Dou took on her role seriously — patiently walking Tang Tang around the house, showing her every corner. Tang Tang remained calm and content, quietly observing her new world.

Bath time soon turned into laughter. Justina planned to shower Dou Dou, but Tang Tang happily joined in, turning the bathroom into a bubbly playground — until she got a mild “lecture” from Dou for playing with the toilet paper 😆

Like many dogs who’ve had uncertain pasts, Tang Tang struggles a little with separation anxiety. When she can’t see Justina, she will whine softly — just as Dou once did when she first arrived. Healing, it seems, often follows familiar paths.

She was very afraid at first. Food was hard. She would only eat when Justina stayed beside her, and only a little. But slowly, gently, Tang Tang began to open her heart.

That very first night, she climbed onto the bed and slept with Justina. She allowed herself to be hugged to sleep — a small but powerful sign of trust. “She is so sweet,” Justina shared, “I will treat her like my own kid.” 💗

In just three days, Tang Tang learned where to poo and p*e — smart and eager, with Dou Dou guiding her every step. She now follows Dou closely, even waiting to eat until Dou starts her meal.

Though she still lacks a full sense of security, Tang Tang has found her comfort — sleeping with her paw resting on Justina… and Dou too 🤦‍♀️ A gentle reminder that love is now always within reach.

Thank you, Justina and family, for giving Tang Tang the patience, safety, and unconditional love she never knew she could have.

From a breeding mummy to a beloved daughter —
Welcome home, Tang Tang 🌸🐩💖

✨ From a Silent Survivor to a Loved Family Member ✨

When Evangeline and family first met this gentle soul at GentlepAws, their hearts ached.
At 6 years old, this ex-breeding poodle looked completely worn down — undernourished, forlorn, and carrying the weight of a hard life in her tired eyes.

They brought her home for a one-week trial, hoping to offer her something she had never truly known before: peace.

Health Struggles. Her tummy was in knots, leading to very little appetite and a difficult bout of diarrhea. Her teeth are in bad shape and she had an ear infection.

The first few days were hard.
Apartment living was unfamiliar and frightening. She paced endlessly, couldn’t settle, had little appetite, and suffered tummy troubles. Four walls, soft beds, and quiet nights were all mysteries to a dog who had never experienced a real home.

But love has a way of working miracles. 💋
With patience, gentle voices, and lots of “healing” kisses, the change began.

By the end of the week, the “ghost” poodle slowly faded away.
Her pacing stopped.
Her appetite returned.
Her posture changed — she now trots confidently through the condo corridors, tail held high and proud.

Though she doesn’t have a yard, she has become a little expert on her daily walks, happily sniffing every corner and greeting the world with a wag.

🎄 Her First Real Christmas 🎄
Potty training is still a work in progress (new habits take time!), but one thing was never in doubt — she was home.
This Christmas, she celebrated her very first festive season in a real family, receiving her first-ever Christmas present. Watching her eyes light up was a moment they will never forget.

She went from being a nameless breeding dog…
to a deeply loved companion, cherished every single day.

With her new beginning comes a new name — one that reflects her bright, hopeful spirit.

✨ Everyone, meet Piper. ✨

Thank you, Evangeline and family, for giving Piper the life she always deserved 🙏🏻🐾

Adoption Update: Parker & Peanut 🐾❤️

From homestay to forever home — Parker and Peanut have officially been adopted by Melisa and family, and life with this bonded pair has been nothing short of laughter, love, and a little chaos 😄 (They are not the current pair of maltipoo boys waiting for adoption) ❤️

Peanut is the lively rascal of the duo — boisterous, playful, curious, and proudly an attention-seeker. He runs around biting everything in sight, topples plants (yes, all the plants 🌱😳), sneaks through tiny gaps just to stare lovingly at his humans, and somehow always ends up eating from Parker’s bowl too. Greedy? A little. Adorable? Absolutely. Despite all that energy, Peanut is the smarter one — he knows how to sit nicely when treats are involved. A true gung-ho character!

Parker, or should we say (Peter) Parker 🕷️ — named lovingly after Spiderman — is the calm, cautious, and gentle soul. He’s timid and quiet, prefers the cool floor over soft beds, and while he hasn’t mastered “sit” yet, he has mastered melting hearts with his calm presence. He may rest briefly on the bed, but the floor is where he feels safest — and Melisa makes sure he always is.

The two boys are inseparable. Peanut cries when he can’t see Parker, they must sleep together, switch bowls, chew slippers together, and team up as “partners in crime” when it comes to chewing everything and anything. Toys? Not so interesting. Slippers and plants? Much better 😂

Despite being p*e- and poo-untrained (for now), Melisa shared that they are actually very well-behaved, increasingly vocal, and settling in beautifully. Hard-boiled eggs are a favourite, apples are Parker-approved, and the cold floor is prime sleeping real estate.

At one point, Melisa jokingly tested the family by suggesting returning one dog — and the answer was unanimous: NO. No one could choose. Because some pairs are simply not meant to be separated ❤️

Thank you, Melisa and family, for opening your hearts and home to Parker and Peanut — for embracing the mess, the mischief, the laughter, and most importantly, the love. We wish this beautiful little family a lifetime of joy together 🐶🐶✨

Say hello to two adorable Maltipoo boys, both 7 months old, who are currently in our care and patiently waiting for the day they’ll be ready for adoption 💛

These two youngsters are at that lovely in-between stage — no longer tiny puppies, but still full of curiosity, playfulness and that irresistible puppy charm. They are gentle, sweet-natured and eager to learn, and with the right guidance, they will grow into wonderful companions.

At the moment, they are:
✨ Settling into a routine
✨ Learning basic manners and confidence
✨ Receiving lots of love, care and observation to prepare them for family life

We’re taking our time to ensure they are emotionally and physically ready, because a good start makes all the difference for a lifetime 🏡

If you’ve been thinking about welcoming a young dog into your home and heart, do keep an eye on our page. More updates will be shared when these two boys are ready to take the next step towards adoption.

They decided a hero was worth forty dollars.

That was the clearance fee to take home the most decorated K9 officer our county ever had. He sat behind steel bars, stamped “defective” because his hips ached and gray had crept across his muzzle.

My name is Sarah. I’m fifty-two years old.

Three weeks ago—on a perfectly ordinary Tuesday morning—a smiling HR rep half my age handed me a cardboard box. After twenty years of late nights, missed soccer games, and loyalty that ran bone-deep, I was told my position was being “eliminated due to restructuring.”

They didn’t say I was too old.
They didn’t say I cost more than the fresh graduates.
They just said, “We’re going in a different direction.”

I walked out of that glass tower feeling erased.

I wasn’t a Director of Operations anymore.
I was just a middle-aged woman with a terrifying mortgage and a calendar that suddenly had nothing on it.

That’s why I went to the animal shelter.

Not to rescue a dog—but because the silence in my house was unbearable. I needed to feel useful. I needed proof that I hadn’t been thrown away.

The front of the shelter buzzed with noise and hope. Puppies tumbling over each other. Designer mixes. Families arguing over who saw which dog first. Children laughing. Life everywhere.

I kept walking.

All the way to the back.
To the concrete corridor known as Row Z—where the “problem cases” waited.

That’s where I saw him.

A massive German Shepherd sat perfectly upright inside a bleach-scented kennel. He didn’t bark. He didn’t jump. He simply watched me—calm, alert, dignified. Like he was waiting for backup that would never come.

The laminated card on his cage read:

Name: SGT. REX
Age: 10
Service: Retired K9 Unit
Medical: Severe arthritis. PTSD
Adoption: Not recommended for families
Status: URGENT

A red sticker screamed across the page:

FINAL NOTICE

“You don’t want that one, ma’am.”

I turned to see a volunteer—college hoodie, clipboard, gentle voice.
“Rex is… a lot,” he said. “Eight years in Narcotics and Search & Rescue. His handler divorced, moved into a condo with a no-pets policy. Department couldn’t afford to kennel him anymore.”

He hesitated.
“He’s stiff. He startles easily. And… he’s scheduled for tomorrow morning.”

Rex shifted his weight. His back leg trembled with pain.

When he looked at me, he wasn’t asking for mercy.

He was asking for dignity.

I noticed a photo stapled to the file: a younger Rex beside a squad car, chest out, medal around his neck.

“Hero K9 locates missing child in state park.”

“That’s it?” I whispered. “He gives a decade of his life. Destroys his body protecting strangers. And this is how it ends?”

The volunteer stared at his shoes.
“It’s a business. Nobody wants the old ones. They cost too much.”

Nobody wants the old ones.

The words hit like a slap.

I looked at Rex and saw myself—discarded for having mileage. Useful once. Invisible now.

“I’ll take him.”

“Ma’am, the vet bills—”

“I said I’m taking him.”

Rex rode home sitting tall in my backseat, scanning traffic like he was still on patrol. When we reached my driveway, he hesitated—waiting for permission.

“At ease, soldier,” I whispered. “You’re home.”

The first weeks were rough.

Rex paced at night. His nails clicked across the floor like a countdown clock. He didn’t know how to be a pet. Toys were inspected for threats. Affection confused him.

We were two former professionals, stripped of our titles, learning who we were without them.

I talked to him. About the interviews that went nowhere. About being overlooked by managers young enough to be my kids.

Rex listened. His chin heavy on my knee. He couldn’t fix my résumé—but he never let me cry alone.

Then came the Fourth of July.

Our cul-de-sac buzzed with food, laughter, fireworks. My neighbors—the Millers—hosted their annual block party. Their six-year-old son, Leo, is autistic. He adores dinosaurs and hates loud noises.

Leo loved Rex.

The “dangerous” dog would sit perfectly still while Leo explained the difference between a T-Rex and a Raptor.

At 7:00 PM, everything shattered.

A firecracker exploded too close.

Then screaming.

“LEO?! LEO!”

The gate was open.

People scattered. Panic spread.

I looked at Rex.

He stood rigid by a loose fence plank, staring into the dark woods. His bark cut through the chaos—sharp, commanding.

He had a scent.

I opened the gate.

Rex couldn’t run anymore—but he moved with absolute purpose, disappearing into the brush.

“Follow the dog!” I shouted.

We crashed through briars and branches until Rex stopped at a muddy embankment near the river. He dropped to his belly and whined.

Below us—caught in roots above rushing water—was Leo.

Without hesitation, Rex slid down the slope, positioning his body between the child and the river. He barked softly.

Leo grabbed his fur.

Rex groaned in pain—but he didn’t move.

He held.

Long enough for us to pull them both to safety.

Back on the street, paramedics surrounded Leo.

Rex collapsed.

I fell beside him, sobbing.

“You did it,” I whispered. “You’re the best boy.”

His tail thumped weakly once. Twice.

That night, the vet said it was exhaustion and arthritis. He’d recover.

At home, Rex rested his head on my hand and sighed—the kind of sigh that comes from a soul finally at peace.

And I understood something.

We worship what’s new. Young. Fast.

We discard anything that slows down.

But experience isn’t an expiration date.

Scars are proof you survived.

Sometimes the one who saves the day isn’t the rookie—it’s the veteran who knows where to look.

Rex is asleep at my feet as I write this.

His glory days aren’t over.

Neither are mine.

If you’ve ever felt aged out, replaced, or overlooked—hear this:

Your watch isn’t over.

You still matter.

Please share this if you believe old dogs—and old humans—still have value.

We’re not finished yet.

✨ Adoption Announcement – KitKat ✨

Some adoptions feel extra special, and KitKat’s is truly one of them. 💖

KitKat, our gentle ex-breeding Sheltie mummy, had just arrived at the shelter when Kerk came onboard as a volunteer for our shelter renovation. For five long days, Kerk worked tirelessly alongside the team, pouring his time, energy and heart into transforming the space for our dogs.

After the renovation was completed, Kerk made a special request — to bring his family to the shelter to see the work he had contributed to. While we usually don’t open the shelter for such visits, we felt this was a meaningful exception. We wanted his family to see, firsthand, the love and effort Kerk had given to the dogs.

That visit changed everything. 🐶💞
The children fell in love with the dogs instantly, and after a heartfelt family discussion, they came back with a beautiful decision — to adopt KitKat.

And just like that, KitKat’s chapter turned from shelter life to forever home. The rest, as they say, is history.

Thank you, Kerk and family, for giving KitKat the loving home she deserves, and for showing us how kindness, service, and love can come full circle. 🙏🏻🐾

Adoption Update 💕 Welcome Home, Leah!

Ex-breeding poodle mummy Leah has found her forever home with Pearleen and family, joining resident poodle Moo Moo (Momo) 🐩🐩

Pearleen shared, “Dogs named Leah tend to be loving, good-natured, and hard-working… associated with companionship.”
Turned out to be absolutely true. 🥹

On Day 1, Momo was very excited and wanted to play right away, while Leah was shy and uncertain. She needed space, was stressed, walking in circles, and even ran away from Pearleen and Momo 😅.
After a good meal (2 chicken drumlets 🍗🍗), Leah relaxed, lay down, and slowly felt safer.

Momo quickly discovered the perks of having a new sister 🤣—she received a toy meant for Leah and ate Leah’s food.

Leah bravely met other dogs during walks—a cavapoo, golden doodle, and husky—and surprised everyone with her confidence. The dogs were even more interested in Leah than Momo 🤭
Best news: Leah’s vet visit went great and her blood test results were excellent! 🙌

At home, Leah revealed her sweet quirks—she loves mirrors and admiring her own reflection. Initially shy and preferring to walk alone, she soon began eating well, enjoying treats, and following Momo everywhere.

✨ Achievement unlocked: Leah climbed stairs on her own! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Today, the two are inseparable. They play 3–4 times a day, Momo now only wants to play with Leah, and even lost weight from all the activity 💪🐶
Momo leads, Leah follows—if Momo doesn’t walk, Leah doesn’t walk. If Pearleen doesn’t move, Momo doesn’t move 😬

What began with worries has blossomed into a beautiful bond. They are now best playmates, and Pearleen shared:
“Leah is a very good girl. My family is blessed to have her.”

Dear Leah, you are finally home—loved, safe, and cherished. 🏡💗

🎉 Adoption Announcement: Welcome Home, Dippo! 🐾💖

Our 6-year-old ex-breeding Sheltie mummy has officially found her forever home! She is now lovingly named Dippo and has been adopted by Teck Hwee — a familiar and trusted adopter who previously gave a wonderful home to our ex-K9 boy Pax, now renamed Patch 🥰

Naturally, there were concerns about how Dippo and Patch would get along. Thankfully, the meet-up went smoothly — Patch politely ignored Dippo, and the family decided to proceed with a homestay. What followed was a heartwarming update from Teck Hwee 💛

✨ How Dippo is doing:
• Coming along great — more interactive, exploring her surroundings and starting to follow
• Didn’t eat initially, but Patch became her role model, and she slowly gained confidence
• No fighting — not best friends yet, but they coexist peacefully
• Very sweet, docile and patient, especially with the kids 🥹
• Learning new “skills” like begging for food and even cheekily bullying big brother Patch 😆
(Patch may bark when too irritated, but he’s generally very tolerant)

Dippo got a puppy cut, went to the groomers (via trolley — she can’t walk on leash yet and is too heavy to carry 😅), and has a vet check this Sunday, followed by sterilisation booked.

📝 Next steps:
Slowly getting used to people, leash training, and ongoing toilet training — all at her pace ❤️

And of course… the most important update of all:

🐶 She has a name — DIPPO!
Because she’s round, the kids said she looks like a hippo… but since she’s a dog hippo → Dippo! 😂💕

💬 Final words from Teck Hwee:
“We are keeping Dippo!”

Thank you, Teck Hwee and family, for opening your hearts (again!) and giving Dippo the safe, patient and loving home she so deserves. Welcome to your new life, sweet girl 🌈🐾
