Paediatric Brain and Solid Tumour Awareness

Paediatric Brain and Solid Tumour Awareness Vision

To raise awareness, support patients and their families, and establish funding to further pediatric brain tumour research and care in Singapore.

We are a team of medical students from Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School. We aim to raise awareness of pediatric brain tumours in Singapore. The launch of the Pediatric Brain Tumour Awareness (PBTA) day in Singapore on 08 November 2015 coincides with the International brain tumour awareness week. Pediatric Brain Tumour Awareness Day

Date of event: 08 Nov 2015
Time: 0800-1500
Venue: KK Women's and Children's Hospital

The Singapore Pediatric Brain Tumour Awareness Day and Brainy Joy Ride aims to increase public understanding of pediatric brain tumours. Through this event, we hope to show patients that the society cares about their struggles and we would like to raise awareness on the different resources and support groups available. When a child has a brain tumour, the entire family is affected. Emotions are raw, tensions run high and loved ones soon find themselves stretched beyond the breaking point. PBTA aims to provide a safe environment for patients and loved ones to address their fears and concerns. Accurate information pertaining to diagnosis and treatment will be presented in a disarming and age-appropriate fashion. This event will also put families facing similar situations in contact with each other. They will be able to discuss the challenges faced, share advice and build friendships. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram .bta! Additionally, take a look at our official website at http://pedsbta.wix.com/pbta!

Special shout-out to KK Women's and Children's Hospital! Truly heartwarming to witness the enthusiastic support from members of the public and our fellow healthcare warriors for our patients and their families.

KKH has been our co-organiser for PBSTA for many years. This is our 5th year and we couldn't have done it without KKH's support. Thank you for being part of the journey all these years!
