1️⃣ Nintendo Ring Fit ()
As part of the Switch console, the Nintendo Ring Fit is an interactive game with an exercise wheel. You hold the wheel in front of you and follow the movements on-screen for a great full-body workout.

2️⃣ Just Dance 2021 ()
The Just Dance series is a popular, time-honored game that allows you to dance, have fun, and get in a good workout.

3️⃣ Black Box Virtual Reality Fitness ()
This VR game uses your body as the controller to get in a solid workout. Though currently only available at Black Box gyms, this company and others are expected to bring VR training to your home in the near future.

To that end, they’re balancing exercise with restorative activities like sleep and meditation and involving other aspects of health, such as nutrition, stress, and mindfulness.

Thus, yoga, pilates, and other mind-body activities are gaining popularity and a growing push for more intentional exercise, with focus placed on form and muscle activation instead of mindlessly going through the motions of a workout. You might think that going to the gym makes up for the 8-12 hours you spend sitting at your desk every day. Thus, you don’t take the stairs, or leave your house to pick up dinner rather than ordering in because you’ve already spent an hour on the treadmill. You probably don’t realise that the calories burned with the accumulation of all of those small activities would significantly outdo the calories you burned on the treadmill.

These trivial physical activities increase metabolic rate substantially and it is the cumulative impact of a multitude of exothermic actions that culminate in an individual's daily NEAT.

Like me, you’re probably guilty of having one too many cheat days this Chinese New Year. Now that CNY has come and gone, it’s time to restart/kickstart your fitness regime.

Here are 5 simple ways to shed that post-CNY weight gain:

1️⃣ Do (low-intensity steady state) workouts by seeking out trails and tracks for a walk. Get your steps in with a walk from your home to a nearby park and back, or just taking a stroll around the perimeter of your neighbourhood and grabbing groceries on the way home.
2️⃣ Start a regular fitness programme at a local gym or right in your home 3 times a week. Track your heart rate and calories burnt with any fitness wearable for maximum effectiveness.
3️⃣ Hire a personal trainer to help you achieve weightloss safely and efficiently. This could the perfect starting point if you've been wanting to embark on a proper training program but aren’t sure how or where to begin.
4️⃣ Grab a buddy or a couple of friends to spur each other on, or play fitness games to boost that competitive spirit and make workouts fun!
5️⃣ Do tasks that increase your (Non Exercise Activity Thermogenesis). NEAT includes trivial physical activities like walking to work, typing, performing yard work, undertaking agricultural tasks and fidgeting, which increase metabolic rate substantially
