An Insight into Follicular Lymphoma
Dr Joanne Lee shared on the radio station Hao FM on 29 October about Follicular Lymphoma (FL), an indolent form of B cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma. She explained the function of the lymphatic system, how FL arises, and why many patients may have no symptoms at the start. Dr Lee highlighted that FL is often slowly growing and can behave like a chronic disease and discussed the approach of “watchful waiting,” where patients are carefully monitored until treatment is needed. She also spoke about the latest advances in therapy, including targeted antibodies, bispecific antibodies, and CAR-T cell therapy, which have significantly improved survival and quality of life. FL is highly manageable and controllable, with many patients today living long, fulfilling lives with a normal quality of life!
